Desperation at it pick. We all know how all this noise will end. I tell you, igbos don't have the stamina to sustain this agitation. It goes beyond writing ireport junk to either CNN or other foreign media houses. This is an internal problem of greed, selfishness, penchant for crying wolf among the igbos which has nothing to do with oppression or the likes, and I suppose these foreigners know about this. I dare to say that, even if this agitation hooliganism is featured in the top headlines of foreign tabloids and media houses, what differences will it make? In Sri Lanka, some rebels(termo tigers), I stand to be corrected, raised arms against the government for many years but eventually, they were sent into oblivion. Foreign countries can never fight your battle. They may lean their voices on air to support or condemn the government in place for brutality and what a few, but expecting them to invade Nigeria for trampling criminal gang like Biafra is an infringement of the imagination. The success of Biafra is in going to war with the Nigerian state and not in the petty protest by miscreants disturbing the economic peace of the country. Only then the rest of the world will take this agitation seriously, and even at that, they must be able to defend the eastern territory from the Nigerian army. Secondly, is by adopting a peaceful approach, building up their cases bothering on marginalisation, senseless killing, economic or social oppression but as we know, these people don't have any of that in their DNA. You can fight for a separate state from a government you benefit immensely from. That is treason. i am from Enugu state not exactly Igbo, but it disheartening to every discern mind that the whole hullabaloo spells bad and miscalculated politics that in reality will turn the whole south east state as orphans in the eyes of future Nigerians. |

PMB may have Biafra agitators to contend with throughout his reign just like GEJ did wit the Boko boys. I see an end to BH soonest (in spite of bombings here and there) but Biafra agitation could be the major security concern of the FG, except Buhari extends olive branches to eastern Nigeria and pacify those boys ASAP. Police and army arrests/bullets may not solve it. We tried it with Yusuf Muhammed's Boko Haram and failed woefully, as a greater monster (Shekau) replaced him. It's true many of those Biafra fighters were not yet born during the civil war, but they they have been told the pathetic story. As a Yoruba man, I feel sorry for what they went through and I think some of our national leaders particularly those who were in various leadership positions during that time or shortly after then, could call for a solemn assembly and appeal to the Igbo nation. There may be no true national unity and peace except we (as a country) take responsibility for the failure/mistakes of our fore-fathers and forgive one another. Let's all remember that daughter snakes could be more virulent than mother snake. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!!! ATTN: YAKUBU GOWON, OBASANJO, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, IBB, ABDUSALLAM ABUBAKAR, EMIR OF KANO, SULTAN OF SOKOTO, OBI OF ONITSHA, OONI OF IFE, ALAAFIN OF OYO, OBA OF BENIN, CAN PRESIDENT etc. |
