My dearie sister abeg forget all these claims and claims, it does not worth the energy, whatever that does not get you richer does not worth dragging. Ok, what shall it profit you now if we all agree and conclude that Opobo or Bonny were founded by Igbo..of course nothing? So let us deal on profitable issues. Let us allow Rivers people and other minorities be. So far as Wike led administration is concerned I love Rivers State. Figure it out.. - Chino biafranqueen: 1 Like |

kel4soft: I am telling what is going to be. The more you Ijaw people try to challenge the Jaja ownership of Opobo and Jaja throne authority, like you recently did, the more you push Jaja descendants and descendants of Igbo slaves in Opobo towards their Igbo origin. Better stop your Ijaw expansionism agenda now, and accept the hybrid nature of Opobo as a meeting point between Igbo, Ijaw and Ibibio cultures, just like Cyprus is to Greece and Turkey. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Abagworo: JAJA broke away with some IJAW chiefs and formed opobo as an extension of the ijaw kingdom jaja broke away from. JAJA does not even see himself as an igbo man. He was sold into slavery and took the ethnicity of his masters. 4 Likes 1 Share |

SpaceTour:I have kept quite for one week now because as far as I'm concerned it is not by force to join alliance with any group of people. I study history for fun and the truth is the truth thats why I spoke up now because that is the real history. Yet and still we don't need or want any so called SS or Ijaw nation alliance that is what I have been saying all along, we should focus on Igboland and Igboland alone. 4 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista: I just wanna remind you. Opobo is one settlement that will be difficult for revisionists to undo as all documents signed by King Jaja himself on behalf of his estate were well secured. And which helped the surviving off-springs reclaim their father’s settlement in the Supreme . Therefore, it is only the Jaja family that can determine the cultural identity of Opobo. In August 2014, at the Elekahia Stadium, Port Harcourt, Hon. Dakuku Peterside representing Opobo told the “unification” gathering of Ohaneze Ndigbo that “I’m a full blooded Igboman….My town, Opobo, was founded by an Igbo, the mighty King Jaja... Dakuku is proud of his linage, why cant you let the opobo's accept their kit and kin in the hinterland, or are you guys on a quest to become nigeria's 3rd largest ethnic group, maybe the plan is to look for more territories and population. No wonder when an ijaw man calls south south or nigerdelta, he calls it as if the whole south south or southside is ijaw inhabited,. 8 Likes |

King Jaja of OpoboFYI only so some can educate themselves. As for me let them keep PH Rivers Delta whatever. Like Truckpusher said he would rather deal with Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani then Igbo, we are happy to oblige them by all means. Even those Ijaws that got money from GEJ after the Delta militancy, refused to do one thing for their own people. They only agitated for their pocket leave them and let us see. 3 Likes |

naijapips02: Silly. Jaja didn't see himself as an Igbo man, and you think it was a coincidence that he subtly created an Igbo speaking Opobo to send a message to future generations. I know you Ijaws have weird theories on how Opobo ended up Igbo speaking today. The fact that Jaja an Igbo man played a fast one on your Ijaw people is an angle you won't accept. Of course Jajas had to blend into Ijaw ways to maintain Peace and stability in the place, but it would be silly of you to believe that Jaja never considered himself an Igbo, if he didn't, why do you think he retained his connection with Amaigbo his home town, and never stopped telling everyone he came from there. Igbos sold in far away places in New world did all they could to retain their Igbo identity, but in your Ijawtic mind, an Igboman sold into Ijawland just close to Igboland suddenly stopped seeing himself as Igbo. kel4soft: Opobo will be whatever the Jaja descendants want it to be. Opobo is a private estate of Jaja and his descendants. The least the descendants of Ijaw subordinates of Opobo in Bonny that accompanied him to Opobo can do is jump into the atlantic ocean. Get that clear. The more desperate Ijaws become to claim Opobo, the more you push Jaja descendants and descendants of Igbo slaves Jaja brought to Opobo towards their Igbo identity. 8 Likes |

Yes pazienza. But first of all, the effort to obliterate any thing Igbo is habitual with my Ijaw brothers. King Jaja, for himself and on behalf of his lineage, clearly ESTABLISHED a dynasty in Opobo. So said Justice Niki Toby of the Supreme court of Nigeria in 2003 in his ruling. Jaja on his establishment of Opobo, had 14 families in his entourage. They now constitute sections of Opobo town. These families were rather his vassals. In 1869, he clearly spelt out in the so called "Minima agreement" with these vassals that his new estate - Opobo - and its rulership must remain within his lineage. So it happened that after the death of King Douglas Jaja 1980, the Ijaws wanted the throne! Apparently to better manipulate the place of king Jaja in Opobo history. Some of the members of these largely Ijaw families concocted a story that the current King was not the true son of his father and therefore should not succeed him. And in addition, claimed the "Minima Agreement" of 1869 vested the power to select the king of Opobo amongst them the 14 families and to which they had selected some one outside the Jajas. Anyway, Opobo WILL continue to be the Crimea of Igboland, so long as the Jajas continues to Identify with AMAIGBO, as they have always been doing. Opobo na small matter. http://news.biafranigeriaworld.com/archive/2003/jun/11/004.html FROM THE GUARDIAN FULL TEXT OF THE SUPREME COURT RULING http://lawaspire.com.ng/2014/08/chief-raymond-d-ogolo-ors-v-chief-paul-d-fubara-ors/ 10 Likes |

The people you considered as brothers and sisters made a statement that were sensitive and I replied accordingly to the pains and agony I was in that were of genuine concern and here you are; a big sister that was suppose to know better and call on both sides to sheath their swords and come back to their senses but here you are calling me out for simply reacting to something that doesn't protect my interest. A simple google search, and above is what you see: Ijaws failed attempt at dethroning the Jajas and finally laying claim of Opobo. It backfired, and they all currently remain customary tenants to the Jajas dynasty. 10 Likes 1 Share |

naijapips02: There was no Igbos those days. It was all man for himself. Jaja fought with the Ndokis and Ngwas for the control of Imo river lucrative oil trade. The Abohs terrorized the Ogbas and some Anambra communities for decades. The Aros were a pain the in the ass for all other Igbo groups. There was nothing like Jaja joining Ijaws to fight Igbos, rather Jaja was using Ijaws to fight his wars against the Ndokis/ Ngwas for the control of the Imo river. And this was after both him and another Igbo leader in Bonny used their. Ijaw subordinates to fight each other in Bonny, before Jaja took his Ijaw subordinates and founded Opobo. 7 Likes |
