Gabon’s President As A Malnourished Child- In Biafra by Lighthouseman(op): 5:16pm On Oct 31, 2015
There is a picture of about 10 malnourished
African children currently circulating on social
media. The caption on the photo alleges that
one of the children, is current Gabonese
president, who it is rumored was adopted by
his late father who also happens to be the
former president of the country.
Ali Bongo Ondimba, 56 is the current
president of Gabon. He became the President
of the country in 2009 after his father Omar
Bongo died. During his father’s reign as the
president, he was a Minister of Foreign
Affairs, a Deputy representative of Bongoville
in the National Assembly and finally a
Minister of Defence.
While the picture is likely an urban myth with
no merit, there has been a lot controversy
surrounding the nationality of the president of
Gabon. Politicians in his country had earlier
requested that the president present a DNA
test, to prove that he is truly the son of the
late president of the country. However, the
president has refused to do the test. This
allegation came up after a French essayist
and a specialist on Gabon, Pierre Pean wrote
in his book titled “New African Affairs” that
the president of Gabon is from a Nigerian
origin.
The essayist claims that the president’s
father, Former president Omar Bongo brought
Ali Bongo from Biafra during the Nigerian
civil war. People believe this to be true
because the former president was a strong
supporter of Biafra during the Nigerian civil
war. It is reported that he organised the airlift
of several children from Biafra during the civil
war and gave them up for adoption.

The President himself can't dare to come out and publicly claim that he's Igbo or that he's indeed the one in the pix coz that'll be tantamount to Political suicide for him in Gabon. And so the Igbo-denial continues.

Igbo is constitutionally recognized in gabon, bloody yoruba dimwit. The president has never denied being igbo.

You lying morafvcker. Oya wey your proof that he has ever acknowledged or admitted being Igbo? Me I get proof to show that he actually denied it when the rumours were rife. Even if he is, I repeat that he dare not come out and admit it publicly as doing so would mean the end of his political career.

Gabonese president Ali Bongo had to denounce the rumours that he was one of the lost children of Biafra after French writer Pierre Péan claimed he was adopted from Nigeria during the Nigerian Civil War. Ali Bongo is now suing the author.

Iigbo is a constitutionally recognized language in gabon. He may not claim to be one of the lost biafrans for political reasons, dosen't mean he denies being igbo.
Not all igbos in gabon are descendants of biafran refugees.

He has denied being Igbo, not once but several times. He even sued the French journalist who wrote that story about him to court.

According to a persistent rumor in Gabon, Ali Bongo is a war orphan of Biafra (southeastern Nigeria) and was adopted by Omar Bongo Odimba (1935-2009) and his ex-wife singer Patience Dabany.
In April, Ali Bongo has categorically denied the rumor. "When I was born, Nigeria was not even independent. It became a year later and the Biafran War began in 1967 when I was 8 years already," he said.http://historyofafricaotherwise..com.ng/2011/11/nationalist-alibi-and-lack-of-political.html
He is also reported to be one of the most corrupt African leaders on the continent.

President Ali Bongo of poverty-stricken Gabon splashes £85m on Paris home... while average income at home is $12 per day
By IAN SPARKS FOR MAILONLINE

The president of the poverty-ravaged African state of Gabon has been slammed for spending £85million on a lavish townhouse in Paris.
Ali-Ben Bongo Ondimba, 51, has bought a sprawling 48,000 sq ft mansion on an acre of land in the heart of the French capital. The 14-bedroom property on the upmarket rue de l'Universite also includes a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, seven parking spaces and a tennis court.

In Gabon - where the average income is just £12 a day - most families live in one-room shacks. Although the west African state is one of the continent's more prosperous nations due to its oil reserves, most of the population still live in poverty.

Gabon's opposition website, Bongo Must Quit, said: 'The president has squandered tens of millions by claiming this new mansion will serve to reduce the hotel costs for Ali-Ben Bongo and his official delegations.

'This is public money that should have been used for housing projects at home, not on palaces in Paris.'

Opponents in Gabon have persistently accused the Bongo family of running the country as their private property.
Opposition leaders denounced his son's election last year as a fraud, saying that the poll had been fixed in order to ensure a dynastic succession.

French newspaper Le Canard Enchaine said the president 'had apparently inherited his interest in luxury property' from his father Omar Bongo, who was investigated for embezzling public funds before his death in 2009.

The paper said: 'President Bongo even made a gesture towards good governance and transparency when he bought his Paris home by announcing the purchase in his own country. 'He just omitted to reveal either the address or the price.'
