Even you snapping the pictures is at risk if fire breaks out while you are there. Motorists plying that root at moment are not safe as well.

When the economy improves and the standards of living become better, when our government creates more jobs for young Nigerians, when it is no longer "PERSONAL GOVERNANMENT OF NIGERIA" but federal, when there is serious improvement in the health sector, when the prayers for good leaders get answered, when we seriously fight crime and corruption..... Etc
Respect!!!!!!!!

I will never agree that this is caused by poverty... something like this happen in Lagos and so many life were lost.... are u saying all that are there now don't have three meals a day? lastly this can't happen in other poor country except Nigeria... will Afghanistan, Philippians and others do this? this is not poverty...it is stupidity.

Suffer dabaru sense. Fela said it and it very true. An average everyday Nigerian that lives through that hell is more like a toddler in the way he/she thinks. And that compounds the problem, because if you can't think constructively like am adult, you can't solve mundane problems. You will be helpless and vulnerable like a baby.

This is poverty walking and talking live.

If some Nigerians can risk their lives like this just to scoop fuel i wonder what's stopping them to protest against bad governance from the local government, state and then the federal government.
Because we are largely cowards, a people without genuine passion for improved standard of living, have a limitless tolerance for bad governance.

will you shut the fok up?who the hell are you to bring my mother into this discussion? I am proud to tell you that my mother is very very poor, but she will never,I repeat never take what does not belong to her like that criminal you were defending. Her action has nothing to do with poverty
And who the hell are you to call another person's mother a criminal? Do you care to know why the tanker fell to warrant such show from the less-privileged. I reiterate tha the the leaders/politicians should cover their kleptomaniac faces in shame

Don't be silly. Always passing responsibility even for life and death issues. Are we this ignorant and stupid. Are these not the people responsible for instaling and maintaining government. How will they make right electoral choices when they cannot make right personal choices. What right do they have to demand good government. Is what they are doing good. Where does the law of sowing and reaping, of Karma (if you are an atheist) come in. We create the kind of society we live and and have no one to blame but ourselves. If they die they killed themselves. If they steal it will be stolen from them, period.

Life will always present you a minimum of two options. It is up to you to decide.

Ask me. Lazy, greedy things. Just like those they put to rule them. They think America is like it is out of the blues. Men shed sweat, blood and tears to make it that way. They had it tough. America a superpower today was made by the second world war. A time of great expense, sacrifice and loss. Our own suffering makes us worse, more inhuman.

Day169:
Pathetic! Simply heart rending.
Despite previous mishaps with the attendant casualties, people are ready to sacrifice their lives and that of some dependants. Just take a look at the pics of lady with a baby on her back.
It shows the level of grinding poverty our people live in and the extent they are willing to go just to survive. .. Lord help us.
Oga. Let us start to preach the anti-corruption message down to the grassroots. There are other genuine, safe and dignifying ways of earning a living other than this. Nigeria lacks about everything. There is more than enough for the wise, hardworking and patient man and woman but not the lazy, greedy one. Poverty is not caused by government stealing alone. Poverty is also a state of mind that can only be defeated by a superior ideology.

You see. People make money in all sorts of ways. You don't have to steal greedily or die senselessly to 'survive'.

You are making it seems like these people are zombies! OK so becos road is bad and a tanker fell that justifies playing with explosive petrol? Even in US, there may be act of God that may cause a tanker to fall, will they now rush to play with the petrol cos a tanker fell? Don't these Nigerians here value their life? How much is a gallon of petrol to die for?

This is the most powerful statement i have heard for the past 10years, if they can risk thier to this extent, why cant they risk thier lives to cause an revolution against the " corrupt ruling class"
.

My brother, I'm not disputing what you said..... But if 80 percent of those people you see there where working, do you think they will be there to sip fuelhuh I indirectly meant they are jobless and poor.

I don't just get this attachment of everything a man's life is about to government. So if government ceases to exist we should all go commit suicide. When have Nigerians become so useless and hopeless. It is the people that make and sustain government not the other way round.
