Are these people well? Do they know how dangerous what they are doing is? This is currently happening at Mowe, Ibafo in Ogun state. A fuel tanker fell early this morning and residents and every opportunity seeker are there scooping fuel, risking their lives. This could explode at any minute...and there's no sight of safety or security officers around. See more photos after the cut...

Point of correction, its not fuel. It's vegetable oil. Stop sending false information.

Blacks never learn from their mistakes or the mistakes of others...especially Nigerian blacks... angry...that volatile liquid can easily turn into flames If the least amount of heat is introduced and causing death to many scooping the petrol...cheiii...

This is poverty walking and talking live.

If some Nigerians can risk their lives like this just to scoop fuel i wonder what's stopping them to protest against bad governance from the local government, state and then the federal government.
exactly...why can't these same persons join hands and risk their lives lynching government officials or staging a revolution ...

Day169:
Pathetic! Simply heart rending.
Despite previous mishaps with the attendant casualties, people are ready to sacrifice their lives and that of some dependants. Just take a look at the pics of lady with a baby on her back.
It shows the level of grinding poverty our people live in and the extent they are willing to go just to survive. .. Lord help us.
Very sad.

How do one explain this to a white man?

Most of them see Africa as a land of neanderthals left with little or no help.

It happened at Forte Oil fillion station along Ikwerre road in Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt over a week ago. People fetched as manly litres of fuel as they wanted. Lucky them, it was not a sunny day, vehicles were stopped, the place didn't even catch fire after an Hausa man went their with metal cup which he scrubbed on the ground.

When the economy improves and the standards of living become better, when our government creates more jobs for young Nigerians, when it is no longer "PERSONAL GOVERNANMENT OF NIGERIA" but federal, when there is serious improvement in the health sector, when the prayers for good leaders get answered, when we seriously fight crime and corruption..... Etc
