There was actually bank robbery incident today in Igarra, Akoko-Edo LGA, Edo state. I went to d robbery scene after the robbers have left and I was able to take some snapshots. let me upload them.

Just got bk frm igara where i served, dia robery in dat part of town especialy edo n okene(kogi) is terible. Banks close 4 days 4 fear of d unknown. I passed through igarra this noon no such news police are visible in check points. .

It happened after the close of work, which was this evening.

Heard the explosions and gun shots were terrible

Its was scarry, It happened exactly 6pm GMT+1. Thise guys were prepared. At first, it started like a some kids blowing knock-outs, Though it was gun shots. Before we knew it, Bombs sounds every where. Sporadic gun shots filled the air.
They attacked Keystine Bank and Unity Bank. One of the secutity staffs of Unity bank was killed. I'm currently not aware if the carted away with money.


Today I experienced something I've never experienced. its something mouth can't explain.

Report reaching me from my hometown (Igarra) in Edo State has it that some gunmen suspected to be robbers are currently in Igarra trynna force their way into the Bank. Igarra has only two banks (Keystone and Unity Banks). I'm told people are currently scampering for safety. Rumour has it that some people have been shot dead already.

I'm reporting this so that people in Auchi and Okene would be aware, be at alert and prepare for glory. Auchi and Okene are close to Igarra and if they are through with Igarra, they might either pass through Auchi or Okene.

As at the time of filing this report, Police have not arrived the scene. No picture yet for those who would ask for pictures. When they get to me, I would forward them.

My brother it's good to know that u r from thesame place That I am, although I'm dangbala it's disheartening that igarra is been rubbed and d security agent are no where to be found.. that's how they rub around Ibillo sometimes ago.... may God guide us from the mayham of man.

Yes, Etuno Primary School is still in existence. It was one of the model primary schools back then. I attended Gloryland Nursery and Primary School though.

Called my Aunt and she was still in shock as at 10pm yesterday. Her house is close to the scene of the robbery.

She said the explosions were so bad that clocks and other breakables in her house were damaged. The explosions shook her house to the foundation, so she said.

Not forgetting those families that lost loved ones. My heart goes out to them.

Amen o! Too much of bank robberies in Ibillo made them close the bank. I hope that doesn't repeat itself in Igarra.

i did my youth service at igarra, precisely success sec sch. 2012/2013. keystone was d only bank opened for all the corpers in akoko-edo LG. i frequent the bank almost everyday due to the proximity of the bank to my house at Ugbogbo. very peaceful environment. anyways, my condolences to the families of the victims. may their soul rest in peace
