Btw, sometime needs to be done regarding the number of students in a room! Most federal Unis have an average of 8 students in a room, and this could rise up to 18 when squatters join the mix!

Accommodation is not the cause of dwindling quality of graduate, rather lecture halls and other things including students' unwillingness to learn/study.

Besides, the ones on ground are not conducive, dirty and anything bad you can find in any place of accommodation

you're right, most halls are too small in virtually all nigerian unis, labs are nothing to write home about.

stupid idea, horrible hostels in Nigeria... will pack people like sardines in there... this is not the education reforms that Nigeria needs, we need better teachers and better ways to curb corruption and rot in the system. education policies and investment in research!

I thought FG should be more converned with what happens to students after they graduate? Why not make it mandatory that students spend more years in the university, so that you dont have to worry about creating the 2 million jobs you promised?

It's a different thing if the facilities are on ground already but they are not,students cramp themselves in these so called hostels,those who can't stay there have found ways of living theirlife off campus without complaining to anybody.

Let's not forget there are certain people that can never stay in school hostels no matter how beautiful it looks.

It's a university,there should be freedom to make choices as to where you lay your back daily,if there are enough hostels,those who want to be there would take it,and those who don't like it would leave it,simple.

Look.....if you want new hostels....hostels with two students to a room, and all the furnishings....you have to pay high fees.

Don't pretend otherwise.

You and this your you-have-to-pay-high-fees mantra. Some public universities in the country allocate a room to only two students, and students don't pay through their noses for them.
