Please has work commenced on the collapsed part of Nkpor flyover, or is Obiano actually waiting for the federal government? I think he should fix it, then get reimbursement afterwards. The FG might not respond promptly considering the kind of FG we have now, if not, that road will be cut off completely and that will be a big slap to Ndi Anambra.

I just hope that Obiano should as soon as possible do something to that road before it is too late, for waiting for the highly ineffective Federal govt will definitely cost a lot of economic pain & disaster.... We can not continue to wait for federal nonsense any more!.We must find a way to build our infrastructure to a World standard!.... This can be achieved by cutting the govt waste,better tax system & private sector involvement!.We should be able to generate all the money for Anambra's economic development within Anambra State without Federal allocations if we are serious about it. According to bubu, the federal government is broke, it has not paid the state the N25 billion it owes the state, and we are talking about yet another reimbursement from the federal government(this our present FG...?).

I still agree with u that Obiano should move swiftly and salvage the situation and not wait for the FG that does nothing but wail and chant kwaruption.

I must say that I am not totally pleased with the quality of capital projects executed in this state, especially roads... The state has to work with credible contractors and competent construction companies, and as for this IDC handling most of our roads projects, they really need to up their game particularly in their architectures and finishing.

Thanks for the update, looking at that pix, I think it's getting worse by the day. That place needs urgent attention. Obiano should compare the amount he'll spend to fix it now with the amount he'll spend when it's completely cut off or is the state also broke? If Obiano didn't ask and wait for FG to build the 3 flyovers in Awka, I don't see any reason why he must wait for FG now to control the erosion that's about to cut off the road in a major city.

This will be one of the biggest game changers. if Obiano actually gets people to sweep the streets of Anambra.

Most importantly, to plant flowers and tress in open spaces as well as use lawn mowers to cut grass.

part of the only thing i know Fashola did in Lagos was making it decent by bringing back street sweepers and landscapers to plant tress,grass and flowers. if we had such people before, the erosion at Enugu-Awka expressway would have been addressed when it first started instead of allowing it to get to the point it is now.

To save the Federal roads from collapsing nationwide, the federal government must quickly concession out the roads to capable construction companies. These companies will collect toll on the roads, to make sure it is maintained in pristine condition all year round.

IDC should have both the Enugu-Onitsha expressway and the Onitsha Owerri expressway concessioned to it to maintain.

Not longer than River Niger bridge, but now the longest being done by Anambra State govt!...It is a record breaker bridge!... It was formally held by Odo bridge!

IDC needs to improve the quality of their work and project execution, CCC seems to be doing better than them. Take a look at the bridge leading to the oil rig being constructed by CCC...

IDC is no match for CCC.
If not for nairaland i will never know that CCC is a local company. Mbadinuju and Ngige use them for road construction and some of that roads are still in good condition till date but roads constructed by IDC last year are being wash away by rain while some of them have collapsed, did i forgot to mention that their finishing touches are like manual job done by masons?

Obijackson is going to open his state of arts children hospital at Okija on 29th of this month and the hospital looks more take away than our general hospitals.

IDC has never deliverd any project worthy of note in Anambra. This is why I'm still skeptical of the flyovers they are constructing in Awka. There is another one called Paul b which built the poorly designed secretariat. I guess these companies are owned by Peter obi else I don't know why they were and are still getting contracts in the state. Why can't Anambra State govt hire trusted construction companies to handle their projects? This IDC should just be used in the Local Government level. The company even looks overwhelmed with the flyover projects and other projects they are all handling.

CCC is already on site to restore the bad section of the expressway.
