This issue has obviously lingered. UNN belongs to the Fed. Govt.; let them intervene.

Let me summarise: UNN VC, simply known as Dr. Ozumba compelled all the newly admitted students of UNN to pay 70,000 naira as Laptop Fee which the school will supply. The fee has caused a lot of hardship in the new intakes as it escalated the school fees to 170,000 naira.

Acceptance fee: 25,000
School fees: 60 - 65,000
Laptop fee: 70,000
Accommodation: 10,000(boys) 11,000(girls)

Total: 165,000 - 171,000

The students have expressed their discomfort with this to no avail. They are of the view that some have laptops already, some say that they can get a nice Laptop with just 40,000. Yet the case the case still remains "No laptop fee, no clearance in UNN"

The SUG on their own have not done a thing concrete to reverse this. That's the summary of the status quo in UNN now.

The problem is that those that has the power to call the VC to order would shut their mouth on the promise that they would be given their 'commission'...
The VC should be reminded that the economy of Nigeria is not smiling at the moment.
The 'New Sheriff in town' should as a matter of urgency put the VC where he belongs...

They should take it to national assembly and stage a protest in ABJ. Who does that?

Wtf. What if people already had a laptop? What if they could get a laptop for 30k or even less?

As far as I am concerned that laptop charge is insane to say the least. It should be reversed with immediate effect!

This was suppose to help student academically and make UNN meet up with schools internationally but the price is too much for this, there are other ways of going about it

From tuition fees to school fees to acceptance fee to laptop fees... Very soon... Students will be asked to pay heaven's or hell's fee...

And NANS will protest over politics...but won't protest when universities have internal problems that requires their voice...

You guys should try organise a protest march at the NASS in Abuja since the SUG and UNN cannot protect your interest any longer
