What does the word "eating and drinking" mean...I'll explain.

Most pastors work full time which means their survival depends on the tithes and offerings.

Others are posted to remote villages to preach the gospel with little or nothing given to them for survival. How do you expect them to cope if you have the intention of giving N10 offering?

During Jesus stay on earth, despite the fact that he never worked, it was recorded that he had a tax collector, a tax collector can be interpreted to as an accountant. So its safe to conclude that Jesus had an account.

Question is who were funding the account, it was simply his followers who were touched by his message...that's how his ministry was able to survive. Cos people were bringing in offerings, donations...etc.

When we become stingy to God's work, we're simply hindering the flow of the gospel. When you give N10 to God's servant and expect him to run the church and his family with it, don't complain when you're being owed 3-8months salary in your place of work cos you brought it upon yourself.

Religion is where your fellow human being makes you to understand that as a man of God or pastor you can only get to heaven through him/her or his/her church. Like you rightly indicated, religion takes,promising prosperity at end. Christianity is doing the way Christ wants us to do according to the scriptures. In summary of this,Christianity is simply living a christ-like life. Op, in as much as I respect your views, you should be mindful of people you tell that. Look at it this way : the man at the temple saw the other asking God for forgiveness ,and he said that he thanked God he was not that sinner for he pays his tithes, pray etc. I think you have done the same thing that man at the temple did.

I understood your perspective of criticisms, or questioning, however, having read all that our fellow users have written, I will have u also focus on ur perfect example Jesus Christ, who having seen all the offering of the wealthy and have-nots commended only that of a widow which was the least but the giver gave from her all... Heart + gratitude and most importantly her All... The point here is "God doesn't see as Men see" so don't fault anyone, or access people based on their outlook... God looks inwards...
