I'm planning to upgrade my Infinix hot note pro to lollipop 5.1 but I don't want to lose any of my app and data. I'm hoping dia z an app dat can make a backup of all n which can be installed easily after flashing. Thanks

When you say "data" do you mean application data, or media in the phone's storage?
Do you have a PC?

Install ADB from here to your PC:

Turn on USB debugging, connect your phone then follow the instructions here depending on what you want to backup.

Titanium back up... U must be rooted...


Back up all apps and data to SD card, after flashing a new rom, then u root it and restore your apps back..

He wants to do an official upgrade (not custom ROM) and you're telling him to root his device?

It doesn't mean Bro... I downgrade from lollipop to kitkat and I still have all my apps,and rooting won't spoil his device...

If you install an OTA while your device is rooted your device would most likely be bricked.
That's why OEMs like Samsung prevent you from even downloading OTAs while your firmware has been modified.

He said he want to do a firmware upgrade and not OTA update...

OTA: over the air. Unless he uses SP Flash Tool, he shouldn't root before updating.
