How effective is Uber business in Nigeria? |
| Re: Uber May Just Have Presented Nigerian Banks With A Sweet Deal by Nobody: 4:50pm On Nov 11, 2015 |
First let them spread their service around Nigeria. I'm still yet to ride in one so have no idea how the model works. My friends in Lagos keep talking about it yet there's no service in abuja where there's huge potential for them to make huge profit. |

Adesiji77:. Union Bank of Nigeria has been doing that since 2008. Taxi cab drivers in Lagos have been using the Union Bank to get brand new cars and each driver makes a daily deposit of N4000 until they complete the payment for the full ownership of the car. Unemployed graduates should have been using the financial facility to start car rental services, but they are ignorant of it or they prefer jobs they will collect monthly salaries without risks. |

ManTiger:So I should believe hearsay over their official site? I'd pick the option I can write down in an exam and score points. |

Uber requires a good and reliable mobile data network ... I hope the existing infrastructure can support this. How about background checks on the drivers, how will they be done? |

Pls, enough of all these south-african companies trooping into Nigeria, we are sick of them as it is #NoHating...they've just exploited us enough! . By the way, op, change that traffic-seeking, hocus-pocus header of yours. |

charix:Still don't get how people are comfortable with Uber in Nigeria knowing how rampant kidnapping cases are in the country. |

As noble as this idea may be, it will turn to an indirect slavery as have seen in major cities with this uber taxi system in place. India is a typical example. |

how is uber better than call a cab and how many can afford it |

EbolaParasite:Its more regulated than cab drivers present here. Anyone with a car can become a cab driver without registration meanwhile with uber the potential driver has a lot of checks to meet which I'm sure include vital information on their whereabouts. Knowing you can easily get traced reduces one's chances of participating in evil. Another consideration is most people who sign up on the company's database're to a fair level educated, probably up to B.Sc level. To know uber one needs a decent amount of exposure which I'm very sure people looking for fast illegal money don't possess. My friends in Lagos say to remain safe always call up an uber driver when there is sunlight - anything later than 21:30 means you're on your own. |

ManTiger:Don't assume that people share the same weakness as you do. Kindly proof the fact that Uber program is really running in Lagos and Abuja |

Guys, Please educate yourselves, UBER is running successfully in Lagos. I know lots of Uber partners who are VERY happy with their returns. Cash does not change hands, so drivers can't run away with your money. Access Bank has already keyed into UBER in Nigeria. You can walk into any AccessBank and ask about it. Pay 20% down payment and they'll take the balance from your Uber earnings over a 4year period. Just trying to keep us all informed, so that people stop yarning dust. ***PS This is NOT an advert! I Do NOT work for or represent UBER or AccessBank*** |
