People get wiser as they grow old.
If there's any growth intellectually in the SS, they should have learnt one thing or another from Nigeria and dangers the future portends.

You have asked for resource control for over how many years now, asking from people that should not, in the first place, be in control of your destiny and your resources.

Unfortunately, there seem to be no wisdom in the SS.
How many of them know how long Nigerian oil are meant to last? If they do, they will know they don't have time. It's either they make full use of their resources now or suffer down the line.

You are asking for 30% from an Hausa man when you can get 100% from Biafra.
There's no wisdom, there is none.

There were 37.2 billion barrels (5.91×109 m3) of proven oil reserves in Nigeria as of 2011, ranking the country as the largest oil producer in Africa and the 11th largest in the world, averaging 2.28 million barrels per day (362×103 m3/d) in 2006. At current rates this would be 45 years of supply.

50 more years of begging for resource control, their plea would be worthless.

There's about 45 years more of being relevant to the North, after that you'll be worthless to them.

The Yoruba have vowed one Nijeriya until every single drop of oyel is finished.

I hope my people in the SS see the kind of vermin that want us to remain in one Nigeria.

FYI, odenni OP the Niger Delta has always been rich and will still stay rich.

Our greatest resource is not the oil but the people.

And if you must know, the Bight of Biafra now Bight of Guinea has the richest reserves of hydrocarbons in the world.

This is why your America is so bent on citing AFRICOM base there.

My Mom used to tell me that I should not go out of my way to help every person I encounter.

Her reasons where that some people are ingrates and the more your help them the more they resent you.

I know you ingrates hate the fact that the ND feeds you parasites.

You are here advocating that the oyel will soon finish so it is better we stop the resource control cry.

If in an oil dominated economy we are neglected even though every drop comes from our land how will a post oil Nigeria treat us?

you yorubas are truly daft!

Every oil reserve has a proven estimate, it doesn't last forever!

Dubai's oil reserves have almost depleted but they did make use of it to diversify.

Now oil contributes less than 5% of their revenue.

For those that don't know, Dubai is no longer a major oil producer. They now produce a meagre 70,000 barrels a day.

When will this greedy people talk abt the solid minerals and cocoa in their area?... Why are these yoruba guys so concerned about the stands of the SS... Lemme humble you, 70% of the south southerners are pro-seccesionist since their plea for resource control has been falling on deaf ears. If we can't get resource control we want out... We don't care what they call it, whether Biafra, Niger Delta Republic, Lower Niger... Just anything 2 dump their greedy a55

1) Oil is selling $50 a barrel on the international market

2) America has abundant oil, thanks to Fracking technology.

3) American and Chinese oil reserves are full thanks to cheap oil

4) India is in negotiations to start buying russian oil

5) China has already negotiated a $400bln deal in 2014 with russion to supply oil in future

6) Iran will start releasing its oil into the market soon

7) Electric vehicle in coming soon especially in western countries.

9) Every year more african countries are discovering oil including kenya, tanzania and somalia

10) Australia discovered the largets oil feild in arkaringa basin

11) England discovered massive oil near gatwick airport

The future of south-south people is scary. And those ones with "awa oyel mentality" or "resource control" will suffer the most; including their children and grandchildren.

Well said and you will be surprised to know that 90% of youths in SS now know what's up and are fully in support of Biafra. Nnamdi Kanu explained this very clearly and many are now understanding. The protests in Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa are testament to this!

There are lot of silly people amongst the minorities of Southern Nigeria but in way, I don't blame them. The Yoruba and Hausa brainwashing was in effect for many years after the war that the Igbo man is their problem and many of them bought into it. One would have thought they would woken up by now.

Its not easy for a man who has been brainwashed for over 40 years to suddenly think right. it takes some time to fix it but I fear "SOME" south-south people are slow in waking up.

They should even be more pro-Biafra than the Igbo where they are guaranteed 100% resource control, enough to enable them develop like Dubai.

The worst case is that the South-west and the north do not even value the people of south-south. Can you imagine that to the west and north, the Oil and gas of the niger-delta is good but her people are bad and not good for anything accept boy-boy.

Look at this present rigime, they clearly told the south-south that her people are not fit to rule this nation. They fought tooth and nail to remove the presidency from the south-south.

After that, the even felt that no person in the region is fit to be the president, VP, SFG, AGF, Senate president, and Speaker of house of rep. The even refused to allow them man the petroleum ministry (at least oil is from there).

Yes it is beginning to happen but there are still a lot of them in denial about the reality that Nigeria will never ever give them resource control. The sooner they come to terms with this, the better they can plan for their future and the future generations to come.

I totally agree with you because my South South brothers, sisters and leaders don't know what happening in Nigeria almost all of them. They shout Biafra leave our oil. Go to kaduna there is one big tank larger than a community and they never say anything. They say one Nigeria. The North now rejecting National Conference report mean for one Nigeria, that mean we are not one Nigeria. I am going with Biafra the IJAW VOICE.

But a wolf in a sheep clothing will always act like a wolf. They failed horribly. If the south-south people don't learn from this then......
