[b] A socio-political group in the South-South, ekpeye Youth Congress (EYC), has dismissed claims in some quarters that the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan empowered the people of the region. Former President Goodluck Jonathan The group made this known in a statement jointly signed by its president-general and acting secretary, emenike Uriah Musa and Anthony Onyemachi. The group dismissed the purported assertion made by Senator Shehu Sani, that the people of the Niger Delta were the major beneficiaries of Jonathan’s administration. READ ALSO: Ijaw Leader Praises Appointment Of Boroh According to Daily Trust the group said that the Ijaws were the main beneficiaries of the appointments and programmes carried out throughout the period Jonathan served as president. The group said: “The attention of the ekpeye Youth Congress (EYC) World-Wide has been drawn to the vituperations of one Mallam Shehu Sani, Senator Representing Kaduna North Senatorial District in the print media, to the effect that the people of Niger Delta are the only ones who benefited in political appointments and infrastructural development in the former President Goodluck Jonathan Administration, and that the North and South West did not benefit.” READ ALSO: Oil Thieves Nabbed By JTF In Niger Delta The group added that apart from the Ijaws, other major ethnic groups like the Urhobos, Ibibios, Anangs, Ogonis, Efiks, Ikwerres, Etches, Ekpeyes, Ndokwas,Ogojas, Ogbas as well as Binis, while others were left out. “The beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme were 90% of Ijaw extraction,” the group said. All the Niger delta struggle the last decade ended up with Ijaws grabbing the entire dividend. - Ijaw vp - Ijaw president - Ijaw 90% beneficiaries of the Amnesty program, in a region with up to 50 other ethnic groups. Bunch of greedy land and oil grabbers. |

pazienza:God bless you brother. It's time to put these creek rats where they belong. Ndigbo will not cede an inch of her land to anyone. In the case of Igbanke in Edo state, they've refused to acknowledge their Igbo origin, by refusing to approach the greater Igbo nation for help. Mark my words, Anioma state will NEVER come until their elders approach their kith and kin in Igbo heartland. Meanwhile, I've always believed that Ndigbo must assert themselves, violently if need be ![]() |

Thats how Ijaws want to force ijaw language on our Opobo people BUT our Opobo brothers REJECTED it. They wanted to claim ndoki land, they FAILED. From Opobo to Egbema to Ndoki are well known Igbo land. Land Grabbers STAY CLEAR! |

pazienza:Why should he be proud of Ijaw? Map of Nigeria can be very deceptive you know. The Ijaw have only Bayelsa state, unfortunately it's all swamp. That's why Jonathan's greatest dream was city on ocean but he was so silly and drunk all the time that he even forgot to give tap water to Otuoke. |

akthedream:You see the problem with you lots, you know nothing about the Igbo ways. In Igboland, you don't storm a meeting of any town that is not yours and start speaking. You don't even have the right to attend such meetings. Igbo communities are extremely clannish , a Rumundara person is a persona non grata in a Rumu alo town meeting, An Ikwerre person is a persona non grata in a pan Etche meeting, that's how it goes.I can't even attend an Nkpor town( a neighboring town to my town) meeting, let alone speaking there. So, under what premise should I be seen in an Ikwerre town meeting telling them who they are and who they are not, when I am not an Ikwerre? ![]() |

pazienza:You still haven't answered the main question... I will quote you again.. " I always told my Ikwerre neighbors that they are Igbos, they just deny it in a laughing manner, they don't get violent about it, one of them even told me that he thinks they are Igbo, but that his father tells him otherwise, " What can you deduce from the bolded? |
| Re: The South South And The Niger Delta People's Thread by Nobody: 5:53pm On Nov 15, 2015 |
pazienza:Please take it easy. You are going too far. We, the Igbos need the Ijaws, just as they need us... This e-bashing will certainly be counterproductive. It is enough. Let this thread proceed on its initial course.... God bless you as you heed to common sense. |
