I know that most people don't know the advantages and disadvantages of having either the university or d college but will go ahead to condemn or praise along party lines

It's only in Nigeria that Polytechnics and Colleges of Education are struggling to be at par with Universities. The three educational institutions serve different purposes and have very different curricula.

I graduated from a Polytechnic (HND) before proceeding to a University for my Bachelors, and I can tell there's a huge difference between the two.

Hediots like you will always defend every policy of this Govt whether its good or bad. Why must you do HND and then Bachelors on the same course, not even a masters degree programme because you dont wish to be caught in the dichotomy.

Rubbish ,it is becoming clearer n clearer by the day that this government has no focus,drive n direction .
All it does is to sack workers,reverse policies n witchunt people .
A government with Vision wud not have the time for these,rather it wud be preoccupied with its own Programmes .

Everyone knows the university was awarded rights because of GEJ's second term ambition, it's better to have few but quality institutions not universities that can't stand next to foreign secondary schools
The only people I pity here is the students who have wasted their money and time going to an unapproved school

From unset there was no need locating a college of Health Sciences in Otukpo. University of Agriculture Makurdi owns large areas of land which are yet to be develop. If not for the greed of some selfish politicians. The university need a college of Medicine with its teaching hospital all located on the same portion of land.

Some colleges of a University are usually located outside the town where the main campus is. There is strategic and not because of unavailability of undeveloped land. UNN is in Nsukka while their college of medicine is in Enugu. Unizik is in Awka, their college of medicine is in Nnewi. Unilag is in Akoka, college of medicine in Idi-Araba and so on. These schools have undeveloped land in their main campuses.

[size=18pt] Mechanic of Machine, Workshop Practice, Engineering mathematics, Applied Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Engineering drawings by Green and Parker, to mention put few, used in the unversity are different from the ones used in polytechnics. Why are you talking rubbish to support the discrepancies in our academic system?[/size]

Did I mention I did HND and Bachelors on the same course? You can hate from now to eternity, going to University was definitely one of the best decisions I've made in my life
