I beg to disagree, not because they don't have the opportunities but because they don't have the skillset. Been a billionaire require certain entrepreneurial leadership that people like Robert Kiyosaki lacked but people like Donald Trump have abundantly.

If you want to know the richest and most dynamic ethnic group in Nigeria, study the Ijebu people history. They have 3 billionaire (Mike, Otedola and Alakija) on the list and a lot of them have revolutionized their industry.

I haven't gone through all the comments so far but it appears you guys have missed something quite serious. Based on this list, Dangote is wealthier than the next 10 richest people in the country put together.

In that case perhaps he is richer than the entire Nigerian polity. Wonderful!

I don't know much about Naija rich people, but please do you mind enlightening us on what skill set Alakija posses and how she may have apparently utilised said skill set in 'revolutionising' her industry? Many thanks

She took basic knowledge in secretarial studies and fashion design and founded a fashion business using few networks she made while working with merchant bank as a secretary to secure upscale clientele including Maryam Babangida. So basically she is one of the revolutionaries of fashion industry before she acquired an oil license in 1993.

Okay. So her skill set is in fashion design from which she made enough income to acquire an oil licence, yes?

Even though from your above statement she worked as a secretary while seemingly running the fashion business on the side .

Forbes releases list of 50 wealthiest Africans.
Aliko Dangote retains no 1 spot. Only 5 Nigerians are certified billionaires. They are:

1. Aliko Dangote - $16.5 B
2. Mike Adenuga - $3.5 B
3. Folorunsho Alakija - $1.7 B
4. Femi Otedola - $1.6 B
5. Abdulsamad Rabiu - $1 B

Other Nigerians were on the list but aren't billionaires:

1. Tony Elumelu - $700 M
2. Jim Ovia - $550 M
3. Muhammad Idimi - $500 M
4. Orjo Uzor Kalu - $330 M

She was working full time with Merchant Bank for awhile before she quit and founded her fashion company. Its not a side business, Supreme Stitches is popular.

How much do you think its oil licence? You will be surprise to know its less than a million, only refinery around 10M that is using current exchange rate. The thing is people assume a lot, you can check it out yourself. https://dpr.gov.ng/index/license-permit/

The truth is you can't teach Entrepreneurial skills, if its possible Robert Kiyosaki, Zig Zaglar etc would be billionaire while people like Richard Branson, Alan Sugar, etc. won't have billions to their names. Its about defying all odds and refusing to take NO for an answer.

Who cares. When they die, I will see if they will bury them with all these money or they will spend the money in hell or heaven depends on where they end up.

[b]This is exactly WHY an average Ibo person is AFRAID of anyone from IJEBU, in Yoruba land.

They are too witty and intelligent and therefore, since it is the nature of Nnyamiris to want to CHEAT in everything they do with others, they have found the IJEBU PEOPLE to "hard a nut to crack"!

"Abinibi" (Native Intelligence) ... is different from "Ability"

Once Ibos hear "ijebu" like this, they just go into meltdown!
