The election was declared inconclusive. They would be a rerun and the Igalas would use their overwhelming numbers to vote for one of their own. APC may have lost their chance. |

I presume the news of the death of Kogi Gov-elect, Prince Audu, is speculation. If it is true (if the speculation is true) Section 181(1) 1/ Of the CFRN 1999 takes effect. The Deputy Governor will be sworn in. This is what S.181(1) says: "if a person duly elected as Governor 2/ before taking and subscribing the oath of allegiance and oath of office, or is unable for any reason whatsoever to be sworn in, the person elected with him a Dep Gov hall be sworn in. |

tonychristopher:Kabba people,Ijumu,Oworo,Yagba and other Okun sub-ethnic group are proudly Yorubas(some even say, they are the pures/earliest yorubas)...Even Ogori-Mangogo LGA who say their are different ethnic groups still speak Yoruba and bear Yoruba names. The Igalas who are the majority tribe in Kogi are non-Yoruba but their language is very similar to Yoruba (Yoruba-Itsekiri-Igala descended from the same stock, hence they are called Yoruboid gruoup of languages) |
