Need I remind you that before the election there was primary election amongst political parties and the winner became the flag bearer of each party for the election proper.
Taraba state tribunal verdict and Ameachi Rotimi as governor comes to mind where the former candidature was nullified because his parties primary was conducted outside the state because of internal wranglings and the latter was made governor because he was the actual winner of the parties primary before Omehia was substituted and lost in the tribunal.
Therefore, if James faleke is asked to fill in for the demise, the opponent may capitalize on this in the court of law that James did not participate in the parties primary hence not qualified to stand as a candidate.

Lets see how APC will lead PDP in a fresh poll now.
...that's if there will be another election.

The fact that our lawyers are singing discordant tunes means they have no idea of the law. How can five people read same passage of the constitution and give five different interpretations.

Meanwhile nobody has cared to ask inec why the election was declared inconclusive. Is this not deception? I see as Buhari is fighting his corruption.

The truth is that this is a very delicate situation, and Apc should b careful because they only stand a chance if they present an igala candidate as d new flag bearer. If falake should step up and become the flag bearer hmmmmm then the chance of Apc winning will b slim

A fresh poll shud b conducted....Apart 4rm d platform,dey is a CHANGE now.The new change requires a new candidate n a fresh election.This is reasonable enough.

really?
Was audu's name printed on d ballot paper ni? people voted 4 party abeg. D constitution recognizes party & not d individual, so d votes cant be invalidated becos d party ll continue 2 be in existence even after d death of d founders.

I believe that's the only man that can stand Wada at this crucial time. Let's wait for the Supreme Court though!

I think Tonye Barcanista is trying to take us to a particular angle, which might appear as if he's objective enough...James Faleke may not be able to pull such convincing numbers as much as Audu will during the supplementary elections ,hence PDP wins.

D oda regions in the state, re watchin nd waiting patiently 4 Dere turn.

The Death of a governorship candidate does not form basis for a cancelling of election. The argument of these men is invalide considering that the candidate has a running mate that is prepared in case of any eventualities(such as this). James Faleke will naturally step up while APC nominates a new Deputy.
on point

Organise a fresh election, you set a very wrong and dangerous precedence, when the election is not going your way, kill your opponent, gbam! fresh election. The deputy is on a joint ticket with the deceased aspirant, he should carry the mandate unless the party determines otherwise. That's my own opinion.

The question is what is the basis of having a running mate? Is it not because of eventuality like this, otherwise we should just have sole candidate for elections who will then appoint their deputy after been sworn in.

I concur..instead of doing a rerun on the 19 locals..let APC bring out a strong candidate from the primaries(that's the eccence of primary), and inec will conduct a fresh election..at least let the people of kogi know who exactly to vote for...and may their choice candidate come out victorious!..my opinion tho

...really,"hence PDP wins"? The number of voters in the supplementary election is not more than 40500,while APC is leading by more than 40000 votes. What APC needs is just to hope for low turnout during the said supplementary election, then the rest is history....
