Hopefully he does all that and also markets his brand aggressively.. I believe that he should also use one of the popular celebrities as brand ambassador since many people out there loves imitating our celebs and their lifestyles.. |

God Bless this man. He is a Doer. We all know Naija needs manufacturing like air. |

3) Local support Network. He should have an army of local auto mechanics who can fix any IVM vehicle blindfolded and one hand tied. This is one secret almost all great software company understand, they all have a legion of engineers who can fix and extend their products within customers’ reach. op guess you are informed that all ivm vehicles are mitsubushi engine so that is not a problem. The only challenge is that toyota has taking over Nigerian maket and mitsubushi parts are not readily available. |

mikhe2:It's bad but it's the easiest way,Nigerian government made Dangote who he is today, just look at the number of product they helped him to monopolise with lot of wafer and tax break, beside he keep sponsoring them but smart enough not to join politics unlike MKO,just imagine if somebody monopolise rice for you today? Won't you become a billionaire withing the next 6 months? |

dazekid:there is nothing special in what he wrote. Judging from his write up, i can bet he is not a businessman in Nigeria. The terrain is rugged and Nigerian business is all about connection. Innoson can design and tweak all he wants but no one would patronize him because 7/10 times, a Nigerian would pick a foreign product over locally manufactured goods. All innoson needs is government support. If he got a fraction of support that was given to the likes of dangote them, he would be an unrivaled champion in Africa. Only GEJ paid him a measure of attention. Buhari should continued the good work GEJ started but i really doubt he would. |

Revolva:About the name being too igbotic: from experience i have learnt that the brand name matters but not as much as product popularity and acceptance. Once the product inundates the market and gets great sales, IVM brand can and would compete with any international brand. |

Way to go, your suggestions are just on point aside the price of garri bit. ... In all honesty I still wonder why the man is refusing to take a leap of faith. Seeing this writeup it shows clearly that am not the only one who thinks IVM needs big shift in terms of strategy. I have screamed my lungs out endlessly just to get an audience with the man. A partnership with NURTW with partner banks and insurance company will make the brand unstoppable. Innoson is an African brand and it must be protected. A word of warning though, at the rate other international brand have stormed Nigeria, IVM will be dead in 5years if it doesn't change its approach. Even his fellow Nnewi brother with unbelievable distributorship network overlooked him to set up a ForD shop in Lagos. If na to reuse his IVM assembly line for Ford motors, that would have afforded Innoson some partnership and exclusive line of products. Chukwuma must think... Ramp up his marketing and not be left behind. In this era of car gifts to our security apparatus, there's no reason why Innoson shouldn't feature prominently... These are the guys that will put the word out there for you. Imagine Nigeria donated TOYOTA HULUXES to a sister west African Nation, why was it not IVM? Innoson must wake up from this deep slumber or find out soon enough that it is a shark world out there eyeke04: |

he needs a change the branding and the general perception of his product. I personally won't pick a made in naija over a Benz or BMW etc. the automobile market is too competitive to be producing the quality of vehicles he's producing. even his prices aren't competitive. imagine the SUV selling for 5m. I'd rather get myself a used benz gl450 4matic instead. secondly, he should stop partnering with the Chinese especially in the technical matters. the Chinese don't have commensurate experience when it comes to car design and building. he should recruit his technical partners from Korea or Japan. if possible, Germany. his cars need better design, truss me. there's more to say but I can't remember. |

emecheboy2:its an obvious fact that Toyota is more popular. let him switch to their engines NAaa |

francizy:brand ambassador can't help here. its going to be a catastrophic waste of cash. first the product has to be good and has to have a reputation. |

the name of one of his cars is umu. wat kinda name is that? the car business is one that thrives on perception. if pple don't perceive ur vehicle in a cool light, sure screwed. he needs to hire a person who is passionate about cars as the Ceo of the company. because it is passion that his products need to improve. |

Little by little, we shall get there, cool innovative pointers, innoson should look at selling a cool car at below 1m which will be similar to Kia Rio, then he should increase his service points, don't think there is any in Port Harcourt or Benin. |

Innoson has done well .....congrats. But......he and many other Nigerians make the mistake of going for big projects, why bother manufacturing complete vehicles and selling only to Nigeria and machine a few African countries? Innoson should forget trying to manufacture complete vehicles, he will go bust in a few years.... I am not cursing him but how many new car manufacturers have succeeded in the past 50 years on the whole world? Not up to 15. Innoson should concentrate on something like spare parts eg specialise in spark plugs or anything other small but crucial parts. I would rather sell 20 million spark plugs to the whole world than a few hundred or thousand cars in a limited market. That's how the Chinese built their business, millions of small items first, then move to bigger projects. Just imagine the millions of washers, or ball bearings or plugs that are sold everyday around the world. |
