Thats how I was queuing for petrol on the express along alapere some minutes ago only to hear very loud disturbing sounds.
Alas what my eyes felt like I was watching a movie. A trailer with a 40ft container which was on high speed lost control and its brakes also.
The end result; its container detached and hence its tumbling on the road
Miraculously there was no casualty

Why was the driver on high speed, especially knowing that he was driving a big vehicle, and was driving within a busy area? Majority of these trailer accidents are caused by the drivers. Many of them drink and smoke, and thus lose their sense of reasoning and calculation on the wheels.
May God save His people.

It's high time these large vehicles are provided with their separate lanes. I can't imaging this kind of accident happening on a Monday morning.

Alhamdulilah that no life was lost.

May God continue to safe our shuttles.

Oga Seun, before I close this page I want to see my credit alert or else we go enter same trouser.
Providing a separate Lane will just be treating the surface cause of this problem. It will continue to re-occur until those in charge rise up and do the right thing. Anytime we take care of problems on the surface, it just last for a short while until another one occurs. All these trailers that has been falling since what has FRSC, VIO and their likes done? Boboye and the VIO has some big questions to answer

Believe me, the driver is the last person you want to hold accountable for this. Is this the only trailer that has falling this month? Can you beat your chest and say that all the ones that has fallen so far was also caused by a drunk driver? I hold the authorities accountable for all these trailers that has been falling since God-knows-when on our roads

Authorities? Why? From the pictures we've been seeing, most of them happen on good roads without pot holes. Check out the road in that picture. Now, what do you say about those that climb and almost fall off overhead bridges? Still the authorities' fault?

Not again...Haba...something needs to be done urgently about dese falling trucks...
just read tru Dis thread and aside one or two comments dat r reasonable, the rest leaves much to be desired....Come on,why r we not proactive...just because dere was no casualty doesn't mean dere won't be any in d future...
many have lost deir lives as a result of the recklessness of dese truck drivers...we must task d relevant authorities 2 b alive to their duties and ensure dese truck drivers r dealt with...d next casualty(God forbid) mite b ur parents, siblings, friends or any one in your family...we sud not wait 4 it to happen to us or our family members b4 we do d needful...."bad things prevail, when good people stand by and do nothing"

I'm not one for superstitions but I'm starting to get the feeling something is really wrong in this 6months govt. Who knows what they have done behind closed doors, Fashola's and Jonathan's time wasn't filled with deadly news everyday.

After the ojuelegba incident, laws were made with regards to the operation of these trucks and timing of their movements.

Everyday, yu see them everywhere carrying containers that are not properly held down in broad day light. In fact, in traffic sef.

Nobody to enforce those laws.

Lives lost almost weekly

We need to start asking questions .

We have been asking questions but no one is answering.
Ambode is busy taking pics with comedians and exercising his right of reply in The Economist.
