but the lion could easily attack farmers, school children etc....
The jos wild life park is not really in a place where there are schools or farmers around and the park is big so the lion probably was killed around there..the issue is that a game reserve this big with wild animals of such should have tranquilizers for situations like this..this just goes to prove how incompetent the Nigerian system is

how can you change the mindset of 160million ppl? Majority of Nigerians are corrupted already in their system and thinking.they imbibe this into the children ,and these are the same ppl ruling.they were born into that system, grew in that system, now how can they change the system. The truth is majority of Nigerians sees doing things the right way as a waste of time and unintelligent.but they sees wrongs things and people as intelligent and smart.
With GOD, all things are possible... Just believe...

that one died about 3years back and this one is the cub, very young and beautiful! i have seen it before!

That doesn't indicate that lions live up to 43 years.

if there was no darts what about large hunting nets .so you think if a reward of 100k was placed on catching the lion alive ,the same ppl that killed it today wouldn't have captured it alive ?

So they couldn't even shoot the lion with an immobiliser of some sort?

Imagine an instance where all the lions escape from their zoo one after the other and we keep on killing them, what then happens? Would there be a surviving lion left in Nigeria?
SHM for lack of tranquliser to tame an escaping animal!
What do you expect in a country where the police use guns loaded with live ammo on harmless citizens let alone 'animal'...that one na 'nama from above' na grin

Majestic means:- Of royalty or splendor. And that is Lion, the King of the jungle.

It is sometimes good to read and understand, some statements makes you look plain dumb(Sorry if the word is vulgar, I can't seem to find another word to describe you).

The most annoying part of your post is that you said of it eats him or his little ones. I hereby daresay that you don't know how to communicate, and you need to work on it.

Ciao!

shut da hell up! What da hell do you feel like now?

Too sad... what a country we are where we don't have plans. This lion should have been an assert to them. I believe the zoo supposed to have a team in charge of situations like this with tranquilizers.

this is nigeria. The excuse is that there are no funds from government to finance tranquilizer and if there are, a probe panel will be instituted to investigate how it got missing

As in, dont they have tranquilizer darts instead of killing it? Thats how JTF are firing life bullets at protesters. I know the lion will be eaten. Welcome to Nigeria, where any animal killed must be roasted and eaten. I HEREBY CROWN THE PERSON THAT TOOK THE SHOT THAT KILLED THE LION, "OGBUAGU I OF JOS"
i rather think they will embalm it and send it to the university museum like the one in the Natural History museum in GREAT IFE

yes but pit bulls are not special..they can be got easily even if u want 200 of them u can get them so they are not valuable like the lion in Nigeria and jos for that matter..and bears too can easily be found in your backyard in some states in america so they are not as special too..jos a the town that desperately needs to attract people with tourism then they are killing the little one they have left?smh its a shame...if u watch national geographic or animal planet ul see that even snakes are rescued rather than killed becos they are exotic animals let alone a lion..common India self that a tiger entered a village and still attacked people was tranquilized not killed and they have a lot of tigers in the jungles of India but they are exotic and endangered animals so they knew tranquilizer was the best option.. we really need to get our priorities right, they shouldn't have a lion when they have no tranquilizers for emergency situations..
