I have the conviction too. I made a comment sometime ago about Ideani junction deathtrap gully and I've noticed actions from Uke axis.
Good they are listening to the people on ground not the damned-empty-pocket sycophants.
lol @ "damned empty pocket sycophants"...

Atleast the government will have at its disposal unadulterated and unbiased opinions and suggestions from it's critics and not some praise singers singing choruses of its fringe achievement, even at the brink of failure.

It is good the government is listening to man on the street, after all, it's in the interest of everyone...

The Nnewi mall project has been on hold or suspension or worst neglect since over 3 months now...
No work going on...
Even on site there are no workers and equipments has been all evacuated...

Somebody should come and clear the air on this...
This is not getting better by the day...

Anambra has a lot of projects on hand and there is no way all of these works can be completed at once.

Poly Emenike: Honour to a man who deserves it
Adversity comes in various forms. So too is the breed of men and women constructed to uncover innovative solutions designed to deal with life’s misfortunes. Poly Ike Emenike is certainly one of the men, who tasted and experienced harsh conditions in his childhood days. Out of the ashes of those awful experiences, he has emerged triumphant as a leading figure in the pharmaceutical industry, champion of community development, promoter of sports development, and an exceptional philanthropist. Through successes achieved in various fields of human endeavour, he has distinguished himself as one man who defied the challenges that life threw at him in his early days and turned adversity into success.

Emenike is admired, honoured and venerated today as one of that rare breed of human beings, who showed that important lessons in life flow from every misfortune. Last Saturday, 28 November 2015, he celebrated at The Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, momentous achievements in his life – the attainment of the milestone age of 60 and the public presentation of his two most recent books – The Benefits of Adventures (published on 4 May, 2015) and How To Alter Your Destiny To The Direction You Want (published in September 2015). His first book, published on 9 January, 2014, was entitled Entrepreneurial Spirits: Through the 17 Principles of Napoleon Hill. Astonishingly, Emenike holds the unparalleled record of publishing three books in under 24 months.

For those who may not know him, Emenike is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NEROS Pharmaceuticals Limited, one of Nigeria’s main pharmaceutical companies. To give you an idea of the kind of extraordinary challenges he faced in his childhood and how he conquered them, I have reproduced a telling paragraph from his first book in which he wrote: “… The business, which I commenced with a capital of about $2.00 (300 Naira) on July 14, 1975, being my 2-year earnings working as an office boy in my Uncle’s Law firm, has today blossomed into a multi-million dollar business empire… Today, I have not only acquired secondary education but also a university education at the highest level… I now possess good university degrees at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels from a very reputable university in Nigeria, the University of Lagos.”

He continued: “Dr. (Napoleon) Hill’s books have had a catalytic effect on my desire to become an educated businessman… Financially, I achieved a lot through the books authored or co-authored by Dr. Hill. It is worthy of note that about 95% of the material wealth I have acquired in life was inspired by the Principles of Success teachings espoused in Dr. Napoleon Hill’s various writings.” Emenike sees Napoleon Hill as the epitome of optimism through which he formulated his own philosophy of life. It was that philosophy that served as the manifesto through which he achieved successes in business and other aspects of life.

Emenike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Marketing, both from the University of Lagos. In December 2014, he received his PhD in International Business Management from the International School of Management, Paris, France. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

If you thought these were the high points of his achievements, you would be mistaken. Emenike received on Tuesday, 27 March 2012, the Napoleon Hill Foundation Gold Medal Award and Plaque at the University of Virginia, Wise campus, the United States. By that gold medal award and plaque, Emenike became the fourth person to be conferred with the Napoleon Hill Foundation Award. He remains the only person outside of the United States to be garlanded with such an award. Additionally, he is the first illustrious individual to be appointed outside of the USA to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Napoleon Hill Foundation.

In November 2011, he was conferred with the national honours award of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria in recognition of his exceptional services to humanity, his distinguished achievements in business, his generous contributions to community development, and his outstanding promotion of the development of sports in Anambra State and Nigeria.

Emenike is a well-regarded community leader. He holds the title of Odenigbo Nanka that was conferred on him by the traditional ruler of his community, Nanka, in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State. He is also highly respected for leading the development of Nanka community. Indeed, he is seen as the passionate leader who fired the development of his community. For example, on 26 May 2012, Emenike attracted national and international celebrities to Nanka during the formal opening of a major sports stadium that he single-handedly constructed and named as the NEROS Sports Stadium.

In his difficult childhood days, his maternal uncle, in concert with the Nigeria-Biafra hostilities and the associated hardships, conspired to deprive him of the opportunity to attend secondary education. In private, he cried and dreamt that fortune should favour him and make it possible for him to attend school. It would appear to be an unattainable dream because, as long as his uncle was concerned, Emenike was not created to be an educated man. His uncle was wrong. The real setback was that his uncle with whom he lived at the time was a leading barrister who ought to have understood and appreciated the value of education. Not so. For reasons best known to no one, Emenike was confined to serve his uncle as a houseboy (servant) rather than be granted the opportunity to attend secondary school. That was a case of man’s inhumanity to man.

Regardless of the odds, the challenges, and the obstacles placed on his path, Emenike endured life and kept trying. He demonstrated to everyone, including his obstinate uncle, that he was not the kind of houseboy to be oppressed, discouraged, and disheartened. He pushed on to achieve his childhood goal of attaining higher education. Not only did he engage in self-education through self-directed learning to achieve secondary school certificate, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as PhD degree, he also undertook in his business ventures extraordinary risks that his peers would never dare to think about.

Consider this. At the age of 32, he did not consider it too shameful, embarrassing, degrading or too old to enrol into the evening programme at the Ansar-U-Deen Grammar School, Randle Avenue, Surulere, Lagos, to prepare for the Ordinary Level (O’Level) West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE). He did not see anything immodest in a man of his age interacting and studying with students aged 15 years. That was a mark of humility and evidence of his unpretentious lifestyle.

Today, Emenike symbolises profound success by a man who started off poor. It is important to clarify that he did not have things easy right from his early years. He went to all lengths to achieve success in his business activities. One of the astonishing risks he took in his business occurred when he embarked on a trip to Vietnam with only $150 in his pocket. For this reason, and particularly for the kind of gambles he took while he was absorbed in the search for that business El Dorado, many people felt he was mindless. He borrowed frequently from banks, not minding that he didn’t know how he would repay the bank loans or indeed how he would provide meals for his young family. He was propelled by his strong will to succeed. Remarkably for a man who was pummelled by misfortune after misfortune, he did not give up searching for success. He moved about every day as if he had no problems in life.

One noteworthy point he never ceases to make is that life was never meant to be easy. He said only those who knew how to utilise the success tools and skills to withstand the tribulations of life would survive. He argued in his first book that many people did not know they have innate capabilities to transform their adversities into wealth.

Emenike is a man of many parts. How he finds time from his busy business schedules and overseas trips to sit down in a disciplined manner to craft narratives about life, business challenges, and everyday trials and troubles remains a mystery. Only he alone knows how he is able to manage his time and other commitments so well to attend to all the demanding tasks that call for his attention.

Why should Emenike be celebrated during his 60th birthday? His distinguished achievements in business and the literary world, his exceptionally goodhearted nature, his unequalled support for sport development at national, state, and community levels, and his community development initiatives, including his personal contributions to the development of his community, as well as his generous donations to many people and educational institutions justify the honour that was accorded to him last Saturday by people of high and low status drawn from various fields of endeavour from across the nation.

Many successful business people are known to be snobbish, discourteous, conceited, distant, inaccessible, and not open to everyone in regard to how they relate with the public. Emenike is totally different. He would take phone calls while having his meals. He would allow people to visit his office without appointment. He is indeed a man of uncommon character and politeness. He deserves to be congratulated on the attainment of the milestone age of 60.

It is a shame that Nigeria does not know how to handle civil unrest. They claim to imitate the civilized nations but they still act like savages. The military is not trained to handle civil cases. They are trained for war. The police is in better position to handle civil unrest, especially unarmed civilians. The police has many means of dispersing crowds, not shooting to kill unarmed citizens. That is how it is done in civilized countries. The action of the security taskforce is highly condemnable.

However, the agitators went too far by obstructing vehicular movements on a federal highway thereby causing untold hardship to innocent people. I said this when it all started, no one is supposed to die because of protest. It's not even a war yet many have thrown away their lives. They promised they will not go against the law in the course of their agitations. Blocking the highway is totally unlawful.

We all know that the federal government has been acting unlawful lately but two wrongs don't make a right. I feel bitterness when I see my brothers being massacred in their numbers by the same security personals who are under oath to protect their lives.

I must advise my brothers to protest peacefully without contravening any law so that they shall not be found wanting when UN will decide to come in.

It was a public show of shame today by Biafra's agitators. It also showed that no tribe has a monopoly of violence. Since I knew anything in this country, ndi Igbo have been killed and plundered. Yet every successive governments of Nigeria have not deem it fit to come to their rescue. The current government came in excluding ndi Igbo from her kitchen cabinet. A sign of hatred. The Nigerian government must show that she care for ndi Igbo. Boko haram is there, adding Ipob's menace could only compound the FG's headache. It is advised that the FG invite our elders and find out at which point the problem started so as to forestall any further problems. That having been said, killing people is not the way out of any victimization. We should stop burning mosques and killing the Hausa. Killing per se is intrinsically evil.

Again, why would Army, Police and navy open fire on unarmed protesters with live ammunition if not for deep seated hatred?

Guy man u have really said nothing
This ipob protest is getting out of hand . We are seriously courting for trouble. Why the destruction of a mosque and dangote trucks yet we lament that he has no investment in the east? Do we really want to convert the south east into a war theatre like boko haram did in the north east? Have we considered the economic implication of these protests? Have we considered the plight of millions of our brothers in the north ?
Most ipob protesters boast and beat the drums of war both online and offline yet have no preparation on ground, no alliance , just nothing.
Currently in Nigeria, we are engaged in a media war with ndi-ofe, politically isolated , and now we want to destroy all the gains we have made since 1970?

Does that justify using live bullets on unarmed protesters? What happen to rubber bullets, tear gas or water cannons? The fact remains that there is a deep seated hatred of the Igbos in this country. The lives of any Igbo girl or boy matters and can't be wished away.

No apologies for the traffic, it was for serious business and not for jamboree. It's not worse than the anti igbo policies of the FG. There can never be any reason to justify the killing of unarmed protesters especially in a democratic setting.. Never... You are either with us or against us.

I quite agree with you. I've said it here some time ago that the military wouldn't open fire on them if they weren't violent because the same military patrolled with them during Tuesday's protest but on Wednesday, the agitators decided to go violent by obstructing vehicular movements on a federal highway. On the other hand, the military doesn't have to shoot to kill unarmed civilians even when they slightly go violent.

I've watched violent protests in the Middle East by civilians, yet the security operatives there never opened fire of life ammunition on the civilians. There's what is called teargas, rubber bullets for Christ sake. In Israel, there's an armoured police vehicle designed to sprinkle boiled water on stubborn crowds.

I advise the agitators to desist from any attempt to trigger civil war again because they will end up destroying their lives and the little infrastructures we have now. Perhaps they still don't know that burning of tyres on the roads is never the best way of expressing grievance, rather, the fire will end up destroying the road and tomorrow they'll be crying that the roads are bad. If another civil war breaks out, believe me, the UN will send military forces to help Nigeria to fight us because we'll be labelled "rebels" fighting the government.

I don't know who may be reading this, but I believe this message will go a long way. I strongly advise the agitators to protest with every manner of maturity and civility.

And you expected GEJ to fix every igbo problem in 6 years, you can't deny he was best igbo friendly president. Obiano should reactivate this ASAP. We don't want this nonsense in my dear state, let them take it to their states or where Kanu is held. Onitsha as a key southern city is very strategic and should not be toiled with. I for one do not fancy Biafra because it poses more danger than good. Let every state go and develop their states, we do not want interruption in the further advancement of Anambra.

Why did he not start it in 2011 for a very critical infrastructure? I will also tell you it is height of foolishness to block major highway for 10hrs without expecting a major confrontation..go and tell Onitsha traders that it was not a big deal in this December that a major route that their customers operate from or through was blocked for nearly half a day ..may the souls of those killed rip...however next time ipob should use brain and not brawn
