I am telling you that the only areas that enjoyed these privileges you keep talking about is The administrative quarters of VI, Ikoyi, Lagos Island and a small part of the mainland.
80% of Lagosians live outside these Zones.

Are these not the most developed areas of Lagos state till today and where all administrative and commercial/economic activities are centered?

What are you talking about?

Fair write up, but a little off, incomplete picture and oversimplification.

Sure, investors look at the Nigerian capital factor, but the number one factor investors think and worry about before siting their investments is safety and security of their investments. The SW remains the safest and the most peaceful, progressive and conducive place to invest in Nigeria. Other factors are availability of skilled and educated manpower and also disposable income.

Lastly, leadership and their ability to seek and drum up investments via favorable terms, trade and investment summits.

Where was this analysis when Lagos hosts trade summits every year including Ehingbeti Economic summit.

Same with Ogun trade summit, Oyo state trade summit and SWITS/SouthWest Investment Trade Summit..

Investments doesn't drop from the tree, you have to work for it..

Investors wont jump into the North, SE/SS to invest anything because of insecurity and instability.

Many questioned Dangote for not investing in the SE, but the man is obviously not regretting his actions if intentional or not after witnessing the destruction of life and property including his own trucks in the SE last week.

How do you expect dangote to leave SW to invest in the SE/SS since yorubas and hausa/fulani share two common traits , islam and lack of crude oil.

It was in obasaNJO'S regime that dangote committed all his big frauds freely in addition to what they both did to Ibeto cement which brings me to yet another two common traits roguery and igbo hatred.
Re: Reasons Why The Yoruba’s And Hausa's Are Very Happy Being Nigerians by Sweetguy25: 6:54pm On Dec 06, 2015

Yoruba folks not heading to the SE for survival has nothing to do with adventure, it's more about basic economics and realities on the ground.

What do you have on the ground for Yoruba people to head to in the SE? Please tell us.

And if there are, why are SE folks trooping out of SE to the SW and leaving these wonderful economic opportunities behind in their own so called comfortable region?

Why are they leaving their own better and comfortable environments just to hustle and slave in poor places in the SW..? Makes no sense...

You want SW/Yoruba folks including graduates to head to Onisha or Aba for what? To peddle wares, make shoes or be apprentices?

Are there serious companies, factories, industries, manufacturing plants, major hotels and so on in the SE for Yoruba people to migrate towards?

Again, makes no sense..

You keep mentioning south west as if it cuts across Lagos. Igbos naturally are economic adventurers, they migrate to exploit economic opportunities. We have been doing so before Lagos became what it is. We are just good at organizing and exploiting economic activity. Don' t Hate
Why are Igbos in Ondo state, there are Igbos everywhere around the world. Why single out ondo state. Is Ondo better than states in the western world?

Why do Yoruba's leave their own states (Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo et al) and migrate to Lagos? Why are they running away from their states?

Everybody migrates to Lagos for the economic opportunity it presents. Shikena

Lol, you deluded folks are amazingly foolish to say the least.
The man who had counted it all but lost do not need a savior but the man who was beaten down to the back bench of national politics with all his greatness surely do need a savior now.

Your attitude is akin to a man who's in the ocean and he can't swim but he's much more bothered about the man in a bathtub at home that can't swim.

You see a man who needs an ecclesiastical being to save him but he can not take the bull by the horn and do anything about the situation in his region. you should not wait for anyone to help you if you can help yourself.

the mention of the cocoa have shown that the britannica is as old as the epic movie "living in bondage". who still believes in that crap in 2015. since there have been a mass exodus of people to the southwest, and there has been more industrialised areas in the southwest, why is it that the state government are owing more than the other states that appear less industrialized. this information is as a result of what happened in the 70's and does not apply to this time.

the igbos who migrated to other parts of the southwest apart from lagos are only there to do business because they have the money to do business in those areas. now, you tell me as a yoruba guy, how many igbos are in your villages doing nothing?

and the strength of Lagos is in it's Industrial estates and hinterland periphery. Those areas you listed are mostly Offices and residences.
I can tell you that there aren't nearly as much Banks, Hotels, Companies etc in these areas, compared to the inland bulk of Lagos Metropolis.

1. Everything in this world doesn't revolve around religious bigotry and investors care less about religion, they are all about money and return on investments and insecurity and instability are the primary negatives against investments.

2. Religious bigotry and intolerance breads insecurities hence what we saw people when folks in the same SE burnt down a mosque and commercial trucks. Who in their right mind after witnessing such mindless anti social and anti business destruction.

These are the kinds of bigotry, non conducive atmosphere and anti other people sentiments that drives people and businesses away from the SE. Change your ways.

Facts don't lie Freeflobe. cheesy

If Una only go to Lag, why are you fighting for title in Oyo and getting flogged on Ondo? cheesy cheesy

Guy, why are you deceiving yourself? Fact: you Biafran igbos are contributing nothing to the Nigerian commonwealth which explains why inspite of your attention seeking noises the FG is calling your bluff. In other words, economically your region ain't shyt. And those fake stats about industrial clusters are nothing but mere fantasy coz even your own folks have long since admitted that y'all are lagging behind other parts of the country -- http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/rivers-state-others-have-overtaken-s-east-in-commerce-industry/

Ogun currently is the number 1 most industrialized state in Nigeria (attracting over 70 new manufacturing industries in the last 3 years with more still waiting in line for approval), followed by Lag. The SW contributes more non-oil revenue to the commonweal than any other region. The North contributes Agric. Pray tell what SE contributes? ?

Lol. Una hero Jonathan himself said it that the SW controls 55% of Nigeria's economy. cheesy

Excerpts:

And he wasn't lying when you consider the indices from Manufacturers Association of Nigeria's last report as follows:
The SW virtually controls/accounts for atleast 70% of industrial activity in Nigeria.

No you change your ways cos i made bold the comment i replied to and here you are making up religious sentiments like a chameleon.
Though i am blessed to come from a tribe that practice christanity in its entirety but that is not the bone of contention here.

The truth is that Dangote will never leave the west and invest in the east because of the reasons i stated earlier thanks.

Seaports are on Tin Can and Apapa, port of original Lagos Colony
A lot of offices are on VI/Lekki/Ikoyi. VI and Ikoyi are part of the lagos colony, most of Lekki is new.
Exchange and Offices are ADMINISTRATIVE.... production does not take place in them, but rather collation.

VI, ikoyi, yaba and lagos island were the FCT. The other parts were developed by the yorubas through awolowo, lateef jakande and fashola.

To answer your question, the bulk of commercial activities are in the mainland where you have industrial estates in ikeja, ilupeju, apapa etc. You can also find the largest markets there and small scale businesses. What you find in what use to be FCT are corporate offices and real estates.
