Jonathan was not in control through his years of presidential power. This has be my problems with his administration. He didn't know when and where to use his presidential power. His wife, Okonjo Iweala and others around him who knows his shallow mind quickly used it to take the lever of power. |

Firefire:Don't forget that all the 36 states are entities on their own like the Federal Government. Therefore The FG cannot leave the criminals who looted money meant for the FG and start chasing the looters in the states. That is the job of the Governor and the State House of Assemblies. Didn't you about ear the case of a Commissioner in Adamawa State sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for looting. That was carried out by the state's Assembly and the court. Therefore all states should setup their own enquiries and do the needful. |

modath:Jonathan was not in charge of anything but our treasury. If you think Dasuki was distributing billions and leaving Jonathan out then you are a learner. If he looked the other way then he had mega chops elsewhere and felt those sums where too small for him. Jonathan's government was a "shine your eye" government where everybody was just helping him/herself in wherever capacity you they found themselves. The magazine that described him as one of the richest rulers in Africa had their facts very correct, if that government is probed in totality, Abacha's would be a child's play. |

Firefire:you typed rubbish it's now your eyes are open to the problems Jonathan caused? all the evidence available are not enough for you to see that what is going on is the height of corruption? worse of all, you highlighted problems this new administration met on ground and you want miracle in 6 months solving them while we silently probe corrupt government officials of Jonathan's administration. you're not making any sense young man. |

Boss13:Our problem is the preoccupation with "stomach infrastructure" to the exclusion of all else even by those whose stomachs are ripping by the seams. How do you expect hungry men to reason rationally and come out with something not connected with stomach filling? Someone proposed firing squad for those complicit in looting our patrimony without all these publicity, and I wonder how that can be possible in a democracy without some people shouting "dictatorship" and extra judicial killing? If on here we can't see anything wrong in what these men did while in office, we would likely do same given any opportunity. |

I am speechless reading your response, let's move beyond sentiment abi you follow chop the money? Dasuki stating that "all hell would be let loose" means all those involved in the stolen monies would surprise us which we all are surprised hearing some names. A question how come dasuki isn't fighting (in court) to go for medical treatment as requested earlier? Why haven't we heard that his health is deteriorating or he fainted? Etc. Therefore, he was trying to escape. All I know is that no one is above the law, if my parents are involved they must dance to the music. The joblessness in the country is caused by such funds diverted to personal accounts, instead of creating an enabling environment for the masses. Just my take on your response.
This is in relation, to his investigations into the affairs of the now ruling party, when he was still the DSS boss. If Dasuki should open his mouth, all hell would be let loose. When Dasuki threatened to go to the press and international community to spill the beans on the plans by APC to use hackers, system engineers and software programmers to distort and change the electoral figures, it was Jonathan who changed his mind with a phone call. What do you think Dasuki went to Chatham House for. Dasuki has always been a friend of Jonathan( Jonathan hardly has enemies) When the President is tired of playing propaganda, he should quietly agree to our demands * Announce the appointment of a new minister for petroleum * Reverse some of the tribunal judgements, which has robbed our clients of their hard earned positions * Sign the contracts we have put at his table for weeks * Change the sharing formular, in our favor * Stop the media persecution of our clients E.T.C If he doesn't, well we have more plagues we can unleach on Nigerians. The fuel scarcity is just one-tenth of how bad it can really get. When people are hungry and frustrated, they will not care about SUPPOSED 2.1 or 200 billion dollars scam. They would rather be concerned about their next 200 naira T-fare. We will not allow anybody, I say anybody, destroy our democracy.
|

menxer:Fair points. I do not support firing squad, but complete confistication of assets, delisting of companies from stock exchange if it is a public company, blacklisting these public officers from becoming a director in any company in the country, some serious jail time without pardon. I also want the CBN to live up to its responsibilities. Financial institutions that supports money laundering should be made to pay heavy fines, continuous support of money laundering should warrant instant termination of the board's appointment, including the CEO. The NFIU must continue to review the transaction activities of public officers on regular basis. These transactions can be tracked. The Central Bank must be truly autonomous and independent. Government must learn how to fund its activities and political office holders should be instantly expelled once it is observed that state funds are used for election activities. Let the cost and repercussions of perpetrating corruption be so high that it discourages the perpetrators. |

The remita deal was signed under Jonathan's regime and sanusi as the CBN governor. This present administration continued with some policies of the previous government. TSA is Jonathan’s baby. NigLasPresident: |

My take on this, is that we had two finance ministers in the last administration, okonjo iweala was for economy while dasuki was the financial minister for pdp campaing. Ngozi quoted as saying she does not know anything about the arm deal, was she sidelined during the approval of such amount of money under her watch? As a financial minister she should have, the evidence of disbursement. May God help nigeria. |

Boss13:I bet they knew. I met someone who works with NFIU and he told me they knew when the N50m third term bribe was paid but they could not do anything about it for obvious reasons. So even if such transactions are flagged, the investigations are suppressed by the government. That is why we need strong institutions that do not care whose ox is gored. |

Firefire:it's politics bro... when Bill Clinton had the political scandal involving Monica lewinski his rivals quickly turned it into a media frenzy , the fact is apc is trying to show Nigerians how corrupt pdp is . simple politics . now as per buharis performance so far lemme remind you that the economy and the naira began its slide during the gej era , if my for the frugality & planning by this administration trust me We would all be in trouble . let's not deceive ourselves we run an oil based economy so where do u Want the president to see funds? by yet more borrowing? when u remember gej sef borrow yet no end product. also we still operating under the last admin budget for Christ sake ! wait for the passage of the 2016 budget which I believe will be better implemented and not leak to private pockets. . Nigeria's framework is being improved for better delivery that's what pmb has spent this year doing , I will only criticise this governement if things don't pick up by June 2016 ... if I needed a 3-6 month miracle by pmb after his election I woulda voted for oyakhilome or pastor adeboye |
