My comprehension of this after listening first hand to Buhari making the statement (not reading headlines)

The president, however, observed that his administration uncovered that the previous administration expended “billions of naira and hundreds of millions of dollars to acquire military equipment but with several abuses of trust.
“There were abuses of trust and that cost Nigeria a lot of lives and a lot of goodwill’’ he said

Is that Buhari actually absolved Jonathan of the scandal
The statement according to my interpretation is that Jonathan actually appropriated billions with good intentions towards equipping the military but those entrusted with the responsibility abused that trust of doing what they got money for.

With this statement, I'm very sure Buhari may not go after Jonathan but the people who where given the contract will suffer

I watched the fund raising dinner in which klint the drunk was the host/mc. ... after different people mounted the podium and made pledges the total funds purportedly raised was N21.27bn !!! TWENTY ONE POINT TWENTY SEVEN BILLION NIGERIAN NAIRA. now I have to ask o because I plan to run for presidency maybe in. 2027 *winks* how much does it cost to run for president huh
