I spend a lot of time in property section and it is unbelievable the level of structures bring put up. You'll see 6 to 8 flat building springing up in 3 months flat.

Whatever happened to the VIN checks prior to shipping? I thought they impose at least 3 days to clear a vehicle before shipping to make sure it hasn't been reported stolen? How are they able to pull this off? Also, most people who owned those cars probably still have payments on them so the title probably has liens? Something shady is up.

It can be done and it has been done here in Los Angeles by the Russians.

They'll swap the vins and forge paper works.

If you're inspecting 10 cars a day then maybe they can do enough work to find fraud but not when you're processing thousands per day.

Also oyinbo custom too dey take bribe. Just not N500 and not shameless in public like naija.

Big lie. I have shipped cars for decades, since being a teenager sef. All from hard work. Even as a student working at night and going to university during day time. For years on long courses.

It takes a great sophistication and criminal energy to organise shipping stolen cars. Western system is not as porous as in 9ja. 500 SUVs you can find even in a few streets in Mushin/Agege. Considering population of Nigerians in Canada. The number may even have been exaggerated. Most may not even be by Nigerians. Nigeria + crime is like honey in Western people's mouth.

Even a single stolen SUV is bad enough, not supporting them.

99.99% of Nigerians abroad are engineers, carers/nurses, cleaners, doctors, IT gurus, shop owners, check out assistants, civil servants and all manner of hardworking people. And I have been to a few dozen countries.

People barely having enough time to sleep after work and family duties, talk less of going about stealing cars.

Home-based Nigerians are too quick to accept any accusations levelled against foreign based Nigerians. Too much belle.

Meaning a black criminal is synonymous to A Nigerian.

These are the cars some nairalanders claim they have seen for better prices elsewhere,and they claim some of the cars we sell are expensive. Imagine people buying 2014 range rover sport or vogue that comes with only a single key,and they do not suspect anything... Agree with you. There are many Nigerian surgeons, pharmacists, nurses, pastors, engineers, lawyers making name for themselves and at the same time doing Nigeria proud. Only the never do well's indulge in this when they don't want to make an honest living

Oyinbo has no problem with vehicles like we do back home, he makes it,he has a functional and draconic insurance system that covers it,when he loses one,he gets another one.
