And which of the ancient languages apart from Arabic and Latin do we have any connections with. Latin has never been spoken in any Nigerian community.

It looks great and I like it the way it is. Cry me a river if you don't like it

Am not complaining, I don't really give a hoot about it all, it's only funny the way you folks try to rationalize the jihadi antics of your forebears.

Wow! I did not notice this. So, they had the plan to islamize us all; if not why arabic and not English.

I know they must be working towards the realisation of the plan. Non muslims, beware!

everything to some people is politics in Nigeria. what is wrong in us having the logo what it is? If you think with your religion, you must have your way in everything in Nigeria, then you are not fair and you cannot realize your expectation. How would you see it if the Muslims too ask for holiday on Fridays to allow them go to mosque like you people do on Sunday? You diplomatically argue, mend and manipulate issues to favour yourselves rather than allowing God to have His way. We understand the basis of your question. ''no be today''

Muslims are the best of mankind!
Pls wake up! U are in a dream!
Your comparison on this subject matter is not the same at all!
Saturday and Sunday is declared by most as a day of rest in order to prepare for the working days!
On Fridays some muslims put all work on hold in order to go to pray! even on Sundays, they now have one function or the order.
Do you even know that they now have vigil?
Nobody is marginalizing any body.
What I am saying is that Nigeria is a secular State and does not belong to any religion!
It should be treated as such!
Must U be a fanatics in National issues?

you are taking this your ignorance too far.
Federal Civil Service Commission employ civil servants. And that was the break down that the DG gave. Other public institutions like CBN, NNPC, PENCOM, FIRS and so many others employ their staff themselves and are called public servants. Police Service Service Commission, Customs, Immigration and other paramilitaries employ their staff themselves. Nation Assembly Service Commision employ staff of the National Assembly. The Army, Navy and Airforce employ their staff themselves. And their own is Military Service.
So there is a great difference between civil service, public service and military service.
you need help, because an agency of government has its own HR department means the agency is on its own, abi you want a civilian to recruit an army personnel, are you that dump.

Go to ministry of interior and defense and find out, don't come here and embarass yourself.

you want a civilian to organize recruitment for military, you need deliverance …

yea. Arabic is a language like English.

why does the Muslim attend special classes for it and even graduate?
Arabic is not our lingual franca. In this country with all due respect it is peculiar to the Muslims.

perfect response for the bigots.some universities(eg University of Ibadan ) in Nigeria have Latin as their motto. We muslims didn't complain that Latin is one of roman Catholic languages.
If this is true..
Then the latin should be removed as well..
Our lingua franca is ENGLISH not Arabic, Latin or Greek.

there is everything wrong with it because Hebrew as not been used.
Nigeria is a polarized country.
to maintain peace, it's either we stick to English alone or use all languages related to each religion & belief of Nigerians in our national properties

If you think God is for the christians, then I think we should also remove GOD from the first stanza of our anthem

'O God of creation' and also from the end of our pledge 'so help me God' because Nigeria is not a christian nation.

Is the word God a Christian word? It is simply an English word which is Nigeria's official language.

however, Arabic isn't bad, and lemme even correct the notion that only Arabs use Arabic, Christians in the middle east use same. Mr. Itk pls learn to respect other people's religion if you must succeed in a mixed religious nation. aslong as the inscription didn't mean boko haram, I am fine with it and FYI my dad is a soldier and I am Christian and I am proud of all Christians & Muslims in the Nig. how myopic? Arabic is a language. Everything Arabic isnt Islamic, just the same way every English isnt for a Religion.
Stop the Ignorance.
It means ''Victory is from God''
The inscription from the currencies 'tells' the amount for those that can read in the Language and it isnt even Arabic, its some Transliteration. Just like I could transliterate English to Arabic, I could write Arabic and you'll read it as English and it would be meaningless in that Arabic.
BTW, I also see no reason for that inscription to be in Arabic when English is the Lingua Franca but I'm not sure thats our Army logo
.
is Arabic Nigeria adopted language?

We must complain about every thing.
The government secondary school I went to in Port Harcourt had used Latin for it motto and no body is complaining. It's the meaning that should matter to us.

OP, I hope some Naira has landed into your account for this your inciting post?

Arabic or not, does it matter? How has English benefited us as a country. And we use English basically in all facet of our national life. In the University, you even study local languages in English.

Abeg, who English don help?

Latin and Greek have contributed so much to policics, science, inventions etc worldwide. So, they have nothing to do with religion.
