What the hell is so good about these "African cultures and traditions" anyway? Where these not the same cultures and traditions that left us 600 years behind the rest of the world? Most traditional African cultures like killing of twins and voodoo are incompatible with modern advancement. In fact ,Sub saharan Africa today has greatly improved within the last 100 years and has been highly westernized ;and that's why there's some form of hope for the continent.

Peel away the layers of culture and black people will remain the same, in ways you'll hate and love. I see this in fellow African Americans, they'll go back to being "land people" with "poverty mentalities" (see Detroit, Chicago, etc). Many have accepted living out their existence in this type of environment. There's something organic and different that I like about it, but there are many things that are annoying about it.
