Hhe doesn't have to regulate international oil price , He just needs to make sure our Naira is stronger with new policies, cutting excesses and of course trading within the country I would think someone as matured as you would not be joining the copy and paste fulls frankyychiji: |

Jesusloveyou: It is not the marketers fault, they are only obeying the market forces ....you can't force anybody to be patriotic. You plant mango for road and you expect people not to pluck? Remove subsidy, let anybody go and buy PMS from International market and sell any price they like. Remove this fake dual exchange rate. Do you see anyone hoarding diesel? Petrol stations are competing to sell the cheapest diesel Does anyone hoard garri? - free the market jo! 2 Likes |

The clueless one gej was an all rounder and naija is still in this deep shit or you want to claim is this government that brought us here? Your last government is the worst we have had in a while it makes obj and ibb look like saints. |

The biggest problem we have is our youths....most of them are clueless, lack discipline and don't know what's going on around more than hearsay. As for the issue of fuel scarcity,we should man our refineries work and produce to fill capacity that way cabals won't hold us to ransom, exchange rate will hardly affect it and we won't have to refine products outside here then go ahead and remove subsidy then can we have respite from all we 're going through concerning fuel scarcity. |

Whatever we are facing now is the consequences of not been able to plan well when we had the oil boom. I simply do not understand why for 16 of our democratic dispensation we could not build just one refinery or support cooperate bodies to build one. Take it or leave it I don't envy the PMB administration. With the dwindling national income and huge expectations from Nigerians and "lootercracy" that we have experienced in the recent times, it will take more than miracle for respite to come soon. God bless PMB and Nigeria. |

Faitholu: I am not attacking God oh. when God loves a child, he puts the child in a difficult position to teach the child a lesson. This is similar to the case of Joseph the dreamer sold into slavery by his brothers. God made Jonathan our president at a time when Nigeria earned the highest amount of money from crude oil. God could have made any other capable person president but he gave us Jonathan. I believe God wants to learn hard lessons, lessons that we must be united as a people and choose capable, incorruptible people as our leaders rather than voting on religious and tribalistic grounds. |

LAGOS, Nigeria, April 29— Four months after seizing power, Nigeria's military leaders appear to be suffering an erosion of popular support. Last Dec. 31, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Buhari led a group of young officers in a coup against the civilian Government of President Shehu Shagari, saying the takeover was necessary to save Nigeria, Africa's richest and most populous nation, from economic collapse. The military intervention appeared at the time to enjoy enthusiastic support from a broad range of Nigeria's population. Many intellectuals argued that the corruption and incompetence of the Shagari administration had made drastic action both necessary and inevitable. Traders, merchants and people in the streets welcomed the soldiers and looked forward to a quick improvement in their standard of living.Growing Disappointment Recently, however, there seems to be growing disappointment with both the military Government's approach and pace. ''Since coming to power, this Government has not found a single problem,'' said Dr. Olu Onagoruwa, a prominent lawyer and a longtime opponent of the Shagari administration. ''But it has managed to alienate the judiciary, the press, labor and students - all the groups that supported it just a few months ago.'' Critics of the military Government point out that it has yet to present its budget. Loan negotiations with the International Monetary Fund continue but Western economists say that Nigeria and the I.M.F. appear to be further apart now than during the final days of the Shagari administration. Early indications that General Buhari would agree to devalue Nigeria's currency, liberalize trade and reduce domestic petroleum subsidies have so far not materialized. Prices Have Climbed In addition, prices for food and other essential commodities, which fell in the first weeks after the coup largely because of the presence of soldiers in the marketplaces, have now returned to or exceeded their levels before the coup. Unemployment has been rising, and many of the imported raw materials and spare parts needed to keep factories running have been lacking. They say Nigeria's bloated bureaucracy has been streamlined through the dismissal of thousands of officials and civil servants. Three weeks ago an agreement was reached in London on converting a part of Nigeria's uninsured trade debts into loans. The Government's critics respond that the economic initiatives treat symptoms rather than causes and aid the larger issue of how to restructure Nigeria's economy. A Western diplomat said General Buhari ''could have accomplished so much if he had moved quickly and boldly in the early days when his popularity was still so high and when he could have credibly blamed everything on Shagari.'' Replace Shagari with GEJ..... then you will realise that you have to ask your parents how they survived in 1984 You can thank me later. |
