The Igbo: Our Position on Biafra•We can no longer continue to pretend that all is well when some groups capitalize on our sad experience of the past to try to railroad us into fighting another avoidable civil war •The number of protesters should be a warning signal to the Federal Government not to dismiss the Biafra issue with a wave of the hand, •The youths started agitations for Biafra because of the feeling by Ndigbo that they would never get justice in Nigeria and that their leaders had been compromised •All these agitations are because of the refusal of the owners of Nigeria to restructure the country into true federalism.” By Agaju Madugba, Oghene Omonisa, Emeka Mamah, Francis Igata (Enugu), Nwabueze Okonkwo (Onitsha), Anayo Okoli (Umuahia), Peter Okutu (Abakaliki), Jimitota Onoyume ( Port Hacourt), Vincent Ujumadu (Awka) & Ugochuchukwu Alaribe (Aba). I totally agree, but I disagree with everything biafra at least for the present, what exactly is that marginalisation we all talking about, simply cos goodluck Jonathan who wasn't even an igbo man lost the election, suddenly we Igbos can't take it any longer. It's a big shame. Kids who didn't witness the war nor did their mothers aer screaming secession and threatening violence. It depicts modern day Igbos are ignorant and clearly should stick to the shops, but as an igbo man who is an intellectual I believe in the future of the igbo man whether in one Nigeria or its divisions. Biafran agitation currently is untimely and not based on sound judgement 9 Likes 1 Share |

The Nigerian political sphere has been a playing field and free for all, biko how did the igbo race become politically important, how did we perform if not woefully, simply because we failed in Nigerian politics we want to rule ourselves. Kanu's arrest and continued detention without trial is the cause of the protests. Biafran agitation currently is untimely and not based on sound judgement Here is a list of some of your greedy kinsmen who looted and ruined the fortune of this country. And this is your idea of 'One Nigeria' where you persistently rob Peter to perennially pay parasitic Paul, and still continue to spill innocent blood to maintain the status quo in the polity. simtosul: The question here really is the role these men and women played in the current state of Nigeria. The List of Top 20 Most Corrupt Nigerian Leaders (dead/alive) below:
1. Oluesgun Obasanjo – He stole $25 billion from 1999-2007 ($16.4 from power sector alone)
2. Ibrahim Babangida – He stole $15 billion from 1985-1993 ($12.4 billion from oil wind fall in 1990) 3. Abdulsalam Abubakar – He stole $9 billion from 1998-99 4. Sani Abacha – He stole $7 billion from 1993-1998 5. Ahmed Bola Tinubu – He stole and continues to steal from Lagos State treasury since 1999 till date. It’s estimated that he has stolen $6 billion so far. 6. Muhammadu Buhari – He stole $2 billion from NNPC accounts in the ’70s and the money was traced to Midland bank (now HSBC), London. Under his watch as PTF Head, N25 billion got missing according to PTF Situation Report submitted to Abdusalam in 1999. 7. TY Danjuma – He fraudulently got enriched through oil blocks from the Niger Delta worth $20 million in the 70s after the counter coup. Those oil blocks worth billions of dollars in today’s value. 8. Nasir El Rufai – Before he was made the FCT Minister, El Rufai was broke, homeless and was looking for loan to import taxis from the UK. After he was made the minister, he seized landed properties that belonged to Nigerians and resold them with huge profit. It’s estimated that he stole $1 billion from 2003-2007. 11. Tunde Fashola – He is the poster boy of Tinubu. Boht of them looted Lagos dried and left it in debt of about N1 billion. Fashola, among other thing built his personal website for N78 million, drilled borehole for over N100 million per each and built a kilometre road for N1 billion. He stole $900 million from 2007-2015. He’ll soon be a minister to continue the looting. 12. Chubike Rotimi Amaechi – From 2007 to 2015, he stole $700 million and $150 million from that money was used to sponsor Buhari and APC. 13. Atiku Abubakar – When he as asked by our reporter how he made his money, he simply said “he was always at the right place at the right time.” Atiku is an astute businessman, but through shady deals, he stole $500 million from 1999-2007. 14. James Ibori – He stole $150 million from 1999-2007 as governor of Delta State. He’s serving his term for money laundering in the UK. 15. Amina Mohammed – This woman was the founder of Afri-Project Consortium (APC) that was in charge of all PTF Projects during Abacha’s regime. DSP Alamieyeseigha – He stole $120 million and was arrested for money laundering. He pleaded guilty and long served his term. 17. Sule Lamido – He stole $110 million between 2007-2015 and out of that amount, $50 million was found in his sons’ bank accounts. He was arrested and detained for days together with his sons. 18. Rabui Kwankwaso – He stole $100 million as a governor of Kano State. EFCC has arrested many of his aides and they are “singing” how they siphoned the money 19. Kashium Shettima – this governor has stolen about $80 million and still counting. 20. Rauf Aregbesola – he has milked Osun State to the tune of $60 million. 21. Kayode Fayemi – this former governor stole $40 million and stashed some part of the loot in Ghana. He was reportedly bought a bed for N50 million. Note: The likes of President Goodluck Jonathan and key members of his administration including the former Minister of Petroleum are missing.

OCEANS OF BLOOD AND THE POWER OF TRUTH by Femi Fani-Kayode
"The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it but in the end, there it is" - Sir Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of Great Britain (1940-1945 and 1951-1955)
Nothing empowers the spirit more than the truth. Nothing warms the soul more than the truth. Nothing dispels the darkness more than the truth. Nothing emboldens the noble more than the truth. Nothing sheds the light more than the truth. Nothing enlightens the ignorant more than the truth. Nothing frees the enslaved more than the truth. Nothing liberates the mind more than the truth.
Nothing purges the evil more than the truth. Nothing hurts the vile more than the truth. Nothing troubles the murderous more than the truth. Nothing exposes the reprobate more than the truth. Nothing burns the slanderer more than the truth.
Nothing chains the liar more than the truth. Nothing heals the wounded more than the truth. Nothing brings the peace more than the truth. Nothing torments the oppressor more than the truth. Nothing haunts the wicked more than the truth. Nothing punishes the tyrant more than the truth. Nothing humiliates the proud more than the truth. Nothing restores our hope more than the truth. Nothing serves justice more than the truth. Nothing delivers the captive more than the truth. As Churchill said, ‘’the truth is incontrovertible’’. It is overwhelming and it is irresistible. It is powerful and it is beautiful.
It cannot be destroyed. It cannot be denied. It cannot be suppressed. It is eternal. It will always be revealed at the appointed time. It may be ignored for a season but it will eventually resurface to torment the deceiver.
With truth comes the opportunity to repent and to forgive. With truth comes justice, healing, peace, love, restoration, reconciliation, reparation, redemption and the chance for new beginnings. Without truth there can be none of these blessings or virtues: only darkness, deceit, ugliness, suspicion, hate, carnage, violence and the enthronement and celebration of bitter and wretched souls. Without truth evil goes from strength to strength. Without truth the wicked crush innocent souls. Without truth the oppressor continues to thrive and flourish but with truth the righteous rise and reach the top. Without truth nations wither and perish but with truth they prosper and excel.
Yet what truth resides in our beleagured country? A country that feeds fat on lies and revels in deceit. A country that refuses to teach its children our history in order to cover up the many wrongs and injustices of the past. A country whose elders refer to the oppressed and disillusioned as desperate ''miscreants''. A country whose leaders refer to those that seek to enforce their legitimate rights as ''money-loving drug dealers and skilful scammers''.
A country that cannot make a distinction between those that seek to peacefully exercise their right of self-determination and those that terrorise, kill and maim others in an attempt to impose their faith. There are many truths that the Nigerian people will have to come to terms with before our nation can be at peace with itself.
An ocean of blood has been shed in the name of a united Nigeria yet the perpetrators of state-sponsored violence have never been brought to book. Many souls have been wasted in trying to keep us one. How much more blood has to flow before those that have ruled us from time immemorial accept the fact that nations cannot be established by subjugation and tyranny but only by justice, equity, truth, equal rights and consensus.
The truth of the Jos massacre in 1945 where hundreds were slaughtered cannot be denied. The truth of the Kano riots in 1953 where thousands were butchered cannot be denied. The truth of the pogroms in the north in 1966 where hundreds of thousands were killed cannot be denied. The truth of the slaughter of millions of innocent civilians, women and children between 1967 and 1969 during the Nigerian civil war cannot be denied.
The truth of the Asaba massacre in 1969 where 1000 little boys and old men were rounded up in the town square and shot in the head cannot be denied. The truth of the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Christians and ethnic minorities all over the north and particularly in the Middle Belt throughout the 80’s and 90’s cannot be denied. The truth of political sharia with its attendant violence, trauma, blood-letting and butchery from 2000-2003 in the far north cannot be denied.
The bitter truth of Boko Haram and the relentless slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent Nigerians by Islamic fundamentalists in northern Nigeria from 2009 up until today cannot be denied. The truth of the murder of dozens of young youth corpers and hundreds of other people in the far north in 2011 cannot be denied. The truth of the brutal slaughter of innocent Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen over the last 20 years and up until today cannot be denied. O Nigerians, who has bewitched thee? Why do we hate truth and those that speak it with such passion? Like the ostrich, we have buried our heads in the sand and we act as if these things never happened. We refuse to acknowledge the evil within us and we refuse to honor the dead by atoning for our sins and calling for retribution and justice.
These horrendous events cannot be denied and neither shall they ever be forgotten. The blood of the innocents that were slaughtered by these relentless Huns speaks through the ages and from generation to generation. That blood cries out to God in heaven and it calls for vengeance. It is time for justice to be done. It is time for those that consistently kill and shed blood in their ignoble quest to rule us forever to be brought to book. It is time for the Tutsis of Nigeria to be brought to heel. It is time for those that starved millions of little children to death in the name of crushing Biafra to be exposed.
It is time that those who seek to play down these events and who seek to cover up their complicity in genocide be called out and shamed. It is time that some of our elders and so-called leaders are sent to the International Criminal Court for genocide and murder and for crimes against humanity. It is time to rediscover our humanity. It is time for the ancient leaders and guardians of the Nigerian state to admit that they have built our so-called unity on nothing but murder, carnage and the blood, guts and bones of millions of slaughtered innocents.
It is time for them to apologies to the Nigerian people for their insufferable conspiracy of silence and their insatiable greed. It is time for them to tell the truth about our blood-soaked and frightful history, to confess their sins, to kneel down before the Ancient of Days and to beg Him for forgiveness. It is time for them to start fearing the Lord of Hosts, to stop hating the messenger and to start dealing with the message. AmadiAba: #BIAFRA: OBAFEMI AWOLOWO, MURTALA MUHAMMAD WERE MURDERERS NOT HEROES – Madam Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo
Look how Ibrahim Taiwo and Murtala Muhammad both died Feb 13th 1976. Assassinated. They were no HEROES in Nigeria! Don’t let anyone fool you. I was the best on current affairs on that quiz show on NTA in 1976 at age 11. I knew it all and even became a Journalist.
They led the 2nd infantry military that MURDERED our boys and men in Asaba Biafra The Federal troops entered Asaba around October 5, 1967 and began ransacking houses and killing civilians, claiming they were Biafran sympathisers. Leaders summoned the townspeople to assemble on the morning of October 7, hoping to end the violence through a show of support for “One Nigeria.” Hundreds of men, women, and children, many wearing the ceremonial akwa ocha (white) attire paraded along the main street, singing, dancing, and chanting “One Nigeria.” At a junction, men and teenage boys were separated from women and young children, and gathered in an open square at Ogbe-Osawa village.

It amaze me when we Nigerians don't see the hand writing on the wall, Lack of seriousness are threatening our existent as a human being and as a country. We are here on nairaland insulting one another when our beloved country is on fire , My people, this was how boko haram started no one then took them serious now where are we with boko haram..I am a proud Ibo in as much as I don't want the division of our country and i don't want Nigeria to go into another war, We as a country have to be careful how we go about dealing this Biafran issues as we say a hungry man is an angry man .. This is the time for our ruling class to come together and find the lasting solution to this problem before its too late. As i mentioned i don't want the Nigeria division , but we should understand that it is the right of any individual or group to call for self determination it is time again for our leaders to think deep and take this people serious instead of a leader like Obasanjo calling them miscreants other calling them jobless this kind of name calling we never lead us anyway instead dooms days await us.. |

I haven't yet been privy to concrete information about the plans of biafra, how exactly we won't be one a laughing stock if we secede and fail. Eddygourdo: how come throughout Jonathan 6years in power there wasn't any such agitation even though that man did nothing of note for we the Igbos, do u expect things to be handed to you simply cos you are Igbo, mbanu nwanna you must work, strategies, plan and execute things against all odds. The Nigerian political sphere has been a playing field and free for all, biko how did the igbo race become politically important, how did we perform if not woefully, simply because we failed in Nigerian politics we want to rule ourselves. That's the behaviour of cowards and failures. My two cents BvM violently tried to take over the Enugu government house while massob has always been there even before Jonathan |

Eddygourdo: I totally agree, but I disagree with everything biafra at least for the present, what exactly is that marginalisation we all talking about, simply cos goodluck Jonathan who wasn't even an igbo man lost the election, suddenly we Igbos can't take it any longer. Biafran agitation currently is untimely and not based on sound judgement . Did I just hear you call yourself an intellectual? You are a big shame to the Igbo nation for displaying this level of ignorance. GEJ was still in power when BZM went to VIOLENTLY SEIZE FRCN Enugu and declare Biafra republic in 2013. GEJ lost the election as far back as March but protests NEVER happenened till late October, how dare you attribute it to GEJ's loss if not for your SELF-DELUSION. Now let me enlighten you, six service chiefs, NO IGBO, over 40 high level political appointment, NO IGBO, ethnic cleansing via lopsided promotion in customs NE and NW 51 officers NC and SW 29 officers, SS 10 officers and SE 4 officers. Are the hausa/fulanis more intelligent, educated or knowledgeable than the Igbos? Answer, you that feign ignorance of Igbo marginalization. What is the mode and standard for admission into Fed Univ in the South viz-a-viz North? Where is Federal Presence in SE apart from the recently approved int'l status accorded Enugu airport OVER 54 years after independence. The SE has the lowest no of both states and LGAs and am sure you know the RESOURCES are SHARED among those TIERS of govt. Am sure you also know that the Igbos have lowest no of Legislators in the National Assembly as a result of the no of states they have. Mr Intellectual I can go on and on but I don't have the luxury of time. Wake up, your brain is being used by the enemy. Finally Nnamdi kanu had been operating Radio Biafra since GEJ admin but was not arrested only to be arrested by a tyrant who refused to release him despite two subsisting court orders. Pls you may choose to continue wallowing in your ignorance but don't infect others with it, Thanks. 2 Likes |
