All is now set for the prosecution of a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, and ex-minister of defense, Haliru Bello Mohammed, and his son, Abbah Mohammed, for their alleged role in the diversion of funds meant for the procurement of arms in the office of the National Security Adviser.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has already filed charges against the duo at a Federal High Court, Abuja.

Though the matter is yet to be assigned to a specific judge, the former minister and his son are likely to be docked on a 4-count money laundering charge on Tuesday, December 29 or Wednesday December 30, a source at the anti-graft agency told PREMIUM TIMES.

Abbah Mohammed is alleged to have received N600m from ONSA in the name of Bam Properties.

The EFCC has charged several individuals in connection with the arms money, disbursed from the NSA office.
More details later.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed charges against a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Haliru Mohammed Bello, and his son, Abbah, for collecting N600 million from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
The purpose for collecting the huge sum was not stated but the EFCC alleges the money might have been diverted from the public treasury for political purposes.

The anti-graft agency has approached an Abuja Federal judge to press charges against the father and son.
It was gathered that the two men are likely to be docked on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Abbah Mohammed is alleged to have received N600m from the Office of the NSA (ONSA) in the name of Bam Properties but the reason for the transfer of the money to the company was not disclosed.

The EFCC has already arrested and arraigned many top officials and companies related to the previous administration for receiving large payments from the ONSA from the funds set aside for the procurement of arms to tackle Boko Haram.
The former NSA himself was charged along with many senior administration officials and PDP bigwigs for benefitting from the alleged loot.
Many of them have however been released on bail while others are yet to fulfill their bail conditions.

One after the other, they shall face justice.

I just wish the judiciary can be alive to it's responsibility by granting accelerated hearing to these corruption cases.

We need to start seeing some people in cuffs and being marched to jail. It will send a very strong message accross that it is no longer business as usual.

God Bless Nigeria.

Good news.
I see more of this type of news next year.
It will be great if EFCC probes the fuel subsidy scam as well and not just Dasukigate. Waiting to see more names.

EFCC has become the most visible federal parastatal all of a sudden.

I fear this Magu guy more than Baba walahi.

Indeed, the best thing that happened to that agency was getting rid of Lamorde. Dude was just too much moral burden on EFCC.

God bless Buhari.

God bless Nigeria.
