Now this guy of mine is staying with his aunty who is comfortable to some extent pending when he would find a well paying job or get enough money to startup something for himself.

From what he told me, his parent are not well to do financially as his mum has been ill and out of job for sometimes now and the dad is a commercial driver. The car the dad drives was actually given to him by the husband of his aunty and the aunty is the middle person. He said prior to giving his dad the vehicle, his dad, himself and his aunty went to a car dealer pretending they want to sell the car so as to enable them know the worth of the car. After checking the car, the car dealer agreed to pay 800k and they refused. To cut the long story short the said car was given to his dad at a cost of 500k and the dad was required to pay in 12 months and it was agreed that the dad would make a deposit of 9k to a specific account every week.


my friend said his dad called him this afternoon to tell him to pack his things and leave his aunties house else he would disown him. When he asked his dad what happened, his dad said he should ask his useless aunty. When he asked his aunty, his aunty said the dad has only paid 9k since the vehicle was given to him which was two months ago as the dad was always using the current fuel scarcity as an excuse for his inability to honor the initial agreement of 9k per week. And it was as if the aunty told his dad somethings that didn't go well with his dad and hence his dad decision and he said with the look of things his dad would most likely return the car.

Now my friend is confuse as to what to do, should he pack his thing and go back home as his dad requested knowing fully well that his going back home to meet and ill mum and a jobless dad so to say or should he ignore his dads threat?

Even as the holy bible has instructed us to obey our parents is not the reason why you should behave stupid. What i am trying to pay is that your friend as you call him op is standing at the middle and going home is not an option to me but if he can interven and restore peace to me it will be better. I think the best for him to do is to leave. If the relationship between the aunt and dad has broken down he's going to feel the brunt. So he should just leave.

Was the car meant for transportation? I'm guessing so but it was a poor decision on your dad's part. A lot of those car transport business barely survives.

HIMSELF and get out of there.
Is he financially stable? If not he needs to get a job and start saving up.
Focus on YOUR goals.Start up something.It's
going to be hard, but the rewards will be
immeasurable.
He can have a happy, healthy life and be able to fend for both himself & his parents.

The car was meant for transportation business. Though i dont know the kind of car but he said the dad sef was not actually the one using the car that his dad gave the care to someone else with the excuse that he has no driving license and when he gets his own he would start using the car.

well since we can't choose our family, please leave your aunt's house quietly but not without thanking them for their hospitality.
