Hey guys,i recieved the shocker of my life when today i check my fone to see a text where i was debitted for the OTP messages i recieved during the month and this is very strange. I rarely go to the bank as i do most of my bill payments and funds transfer online but before now i was never charged for the OTP so this came as a surprise as the sum was quite large. They are encouraging us to use more e-payments systems but they keep putting all these hurdles on the way i just dont get it. For funds tranfer youre charged convenience fee, they charge you for sms alerts on your phone and now they still charge for the OTP text messages which is part of the system they're are selling. Does this make sense. Did anyone else experience similar problems?

Charge for OTP? I thought charging for birthday messages was strange before. Could it have anything to do with Zero COT regime for 2016?

Firstbank Mastercard on Quickterller. I basically do everything online. Even buying airtime so my bill was outrageous and annyoing

wow it was same FBN that charge me for sending me birthday message, I caught them because there was no transaction in the said month.
I use UBA a lot online too but I've never been charged for OTP.

You should try porting to another bank.

I had a gt account but they are even worse, still charging 120 naira for transactions even with the token and all. They do not encourage persons to really utilize online facilities with all these charges. I'dbetter stick with Diamondbank. They dont even chrge you for sms
