Here's the story..
A man had four children from a lady out of wedlock then the lady ran away and left the children, 2 girls, 2 boys. The man got married to a lady who came in and took care of these children but they were antagonistic of the wife and even promised her that she would not have a child of her own.. these children were between 8-14yrs. they eventually went back to their mother. since then till their adulthood they've not relented in their attacks! teh woman eventually had children...

the husband is dead now, and he put his wife as next of kin.. the family is asking her for his death certificate! are there not legal implications of handing over such a document to his family or his first son? especially as the first son doesn't even recognise the woman as his father's wife! since she's next of kin doesnt she have the right to do as she pleases?

Of what importance is the death certificate to them and what exactly do they need it for?

And if she's the fiducial next of kin backed with genuine documentation then the death certificate should be held in her trust. She shouldn't give them.

yep !!! she has d right to do as she pleases . she shouldn't give it to dem , it stays with her !! her hubby knew what he was doing when he made her next of kin. since d kids hv hated her , who knows if dey want to use it against her somehow? nope, she shouldn't give it to them .
what abt his will ? who's in there ?

Really tough, the woman is legally the custodian of the late husband estate, the children aren't wise, by the way the woman if wedded properly traditionally and legally, they have zero case against her

the family isn't even interested in burial rites, they are just singing that they want death certificate.. the woman is scared that if she doesnt hand over the docs they may make her undergo those mourning rites like shaving her hair and sitting on the floor etc

really unfair by such a family, well legally she has the upper hand since the deceased listed her as his next of kin. Though I fear that traditionally she is bleeped as the family will wanna be cruel to her during this period. Anyway it's a chess game, let her give them the certificate, the earlier they play their hand the sooner she knows how deep in poo she really is and plan her coynterattack

yeah.. I Think so too but she doesn't! She doesn't even know the full implication of death cert and next-of-kin
