The Six Geographical Regions Of Nigeria In Order Of Development. by WIZGUY69(m): 8:36pm On Jan 02, 2016
They are as follow :

-South west : civilization in Nigeria starts
there, In places like Lagos, Ibadan where the
first tertiary institution, first industrial
estates, teaching hospital and first TV station
is located. and it homes the most
industrialized state in Nigeria. (Ogun state),
commercial capital of Nigeria (Lagos) which
makes the region the economic power house
of the country (Nigeria).

-South south : home to important place in
Nigeria like Port Harcourt the third most
important city in Nigeria, calabar ( the tourist
capital of Nigeria) and the region produces
the states with the highest amount of GDP.

-South east : Presence of large market in this
region boosts the rate of development there.
places like aba, Onitsha etc attracts investors
due to the large markets.

- North west : the region where the traditional
head of Muslim is situated (sultan of Sokoto).
it includes states like kano the commercial
base of the north, kaduna the defence capital
of the country.

-North central : this includes states like
Benue, kogi and nassarawa and the FCT (the
Administrative Capital of Nigeria). Though
poverty is still rampant in the region.

-North east. :due to the insurgency, its
understandable for the region to be at the
bottom in terms of development. the most
underdeveloped states in Nigeria is located
there, nothing much up there. no thanks to
the climate of the region.

Can you rewrite your analysis removing lagos from the South west and making it a separate zone also remove Abuja from the north central and keep it as a separate zone, let us see how the list plays out.

South West obviously started developing before others that is why they set the pace however some other regions will catch up in some years time if properly planned. American states are not developed equally either.
Note: Lagos shouldn't be separated from the south Western states because if the aborigines didn't set the platform, the development wouldn't have been concentrated there

Remove Lagos from South west, its a 'federal territory' for everyone. If Lag is finally removed watch as the whole south west would be comparable to the North east, (if not less developed than the NE).
...as for Ogun being the industrial state of the country, it's a big fallacy; pure water industries and other small scale and cottage industries are not counted as heavy industries that generate bulky income, if I'm lying ask Anambra state whether they were part of the 'snitches' that converged at Aso rock begging for fund comically termed 'bailout fund'... The SW provide bulk of those leeches.
...as for having the first institution, its on record that UNN is the first indigenous and autonomous university in the country.
...most of the things that you are claiming in the SW where provided by the whites; foreigner. And since they left the shore of this country and handed governance to you guys, the infrastructures which they created (that you are claiming) are now in deplorable conditions and still deteriorating... **pukes***

The idea is to make the former and present capitals as separate zones in line with how they were developed differently by the federal might and rank the zones after that

Can you listen to yourself? So where should Lagos be moved to if not the Southwest? The moon? Whether you like it or not Lagos is and will always be in Southwest Nigeria. Deal with it.

Calabar was a capital too lets remove it from SOuth South

Lokoja too was once a capital lets remove it from the North Central

BTW its almost 25yrs since Lagos ceased to be a capital of anything. Yet the industries in ogun state alone dwarfs whatever you have in your entire region

Lol. Your bad-belle will not change the fact that Lagos is in SW Nigeria, and that Ogun is now the industrial hub of Nigeria. You can hype Anambra from today till tomorrow but that won't change the fact that it is a glorified village peopled by illiterate traders and wannabes.

Lagos should be accessed differently as a zone, even the PHCN zoned lagos island, ikeja as different zones from the south west zone , are you smarter than the telecommunications companies like mtn, globacom, Air tel that have different switches for lagos and the remaining south west

Let's rearrange this your list.

1. FCT Abuja
2. Lagos (Former capital of Nigeria): Business and tourism.
3. South South: Oil, fishing, farming and tourism
4. South East: Business and small oil and gas.
5. South West: Business, farming and small oil and gas.
6. North West: Farming, Religion and business
7. North Central: Farming
8. North East: Bombing and farming.

So is it PHCN who tells which region is which? or its the airtel switch that tells which region is what?

Kettyki,, you are smarter than this so I'll be a lil easy on you so I don't chop another ban -- just got back from a 2 weeks hiatus. But frankly you are not making sense. Lagos can't cease from being a part of the SW Just simply coz you personally loath the idea. You are in no position to decide that. Lagos is and will always be and remain in the SW just as sure as the sun is sure to set daily.

If you remove calabar from the South South, the difference would be marginal, if you remove lokoja from the north central the difference would not be very big, but if you remove lagos whose 43% of the population is from another region, then the difference becomes unmanageably very big.

Lagos makes a whole of difference as all the oil and gas companies are headquartered there same with banks and telecommunications companies.
When you analyse zones do it on the basis of zonal developmental basis and not giving a zone false leverage by pushing federal capital assets as zonal assets.

Are all the people in lagos south west people, ?

Lol, at the last confab Lagos delegates were separate from the SW delegates. Each SW states has all it takes to be great and should stop hiding under the shadow of Lagos, the geopolitical zones are not constitutional and the states are the federating units

hahaha... E PAIN AM!! I am not even from Anambra, just stating the obvious...
As for ndianambra being illiterate, this conspicuously shows that you know nothing about that state, check the recent rating, achievements by states in education; anambra leads... The state has produced scholars, academics and academia of reputable characters. Worthy of note is the first Nigerian Vice chancellor of that university at Ibadan is from that state in person of Kenneth Dike...

No one forced any Bank to be headquartered in the SW. Its the favourable business climate they found there that made them stay. Unity Bank headquarter is headquartered in Abuja. Tell your kinsmen to move th HQ to their village too.

Lagos is part of the SouthWest and would remain so. Ilupeju Industrial estate, Ikeja are all part of the Western region govt of the first republic

Are all the people in New York Americans? So we can remove New York from USA. right?

Can someone actually list obasanjo farms as an investment, what type of investment would that be. This is more of a federal government parastatal than a private investment. Ogun has far more industries than this though but most of the industries are struggling with debt related problems and power issues and are not as lucrative as you might think, a good example is Unilever that is on the verge and Dunlop which even though in lagos was not profitable.

Obasanjo Farm is not an investment. Its a Federal ministry. Abeg who is the minister in charge?
