Junior Bayode was 16 when he took part in the mob stabbing of Sofyen Belamouadden , 15, and was given 11 years for manslaughter in 2013.

Bayode, now 22, blasted jail chiefs over the decision to deport him when he is due to be freed in 2019.

His mother is from Nigeria but he was born in Germany and came to the UK aged nine months.

He wrote to prisoners’ paper Inside Time from Moorland jail in Doncaster that he is “struggling to understand” why he is being deported. He added: “I may not have been born here but all I know is the British way of life.

Mr Belamouadden teen was chased by a gang of around 20 youths from a rival school and stabbed nine times in just 12 seconds in front of shocked commuters in Victoria Underground Station in central London in the attack two years ago.


Five trials took place at the Old Bailey with 17 convictions resulting.

Bayode, of Streatham, South London, said the Home Office's “deport first, appeal later” policy was designed to hit migration targets “regardless of human rights”.

He added: “I have neither travelled nor been to any other country since I arrived in the UK over 20 years ago.

“My past, my present and my future is firmly rooted in British soil, hence why I am struggling to understand why I have been served with a deportation order to a country I have never been to - Nigeria.

"I was distraught when I read on the order that I can only appeal after my deportation."

Your post said he should be a permanent resident. Is that simply because he has lived in the UK for 20 years? If so then simply living there illegally does not entitle you to permanent residency status or citizenship.

Looking at the story he is definitely not a British or German citizen and I also do not think he is a British legal permanent resident so they are within their legal rights to deport him.

Even if he was a legal resident it is made clear when you apply that breaking certain rules can result in loss of your residency status and prevent you from attaining citizenship for some time to never, and even after you naturalise, it can still be revoked in extreme cases e.g. people joining ISIS or other acts of terrorism and this is not particular to the UK. The US can revoke your citizenship as well many other countries. This is very rare and only in extreme cases as I said but it can be done.

If he is an illegal immigrant in the UK then he really has no case, the British government's responsibility is to protect British citizens.

What you quoted is absolutely SPOT ON! This is not a case of emotion but immigration law.

When he was born in Germany, its likely his parents were not legal residents, hence he has no German nationality. There is a misconception that you automatically get citizenship based on where you were born, not true, Many EU countries DO NOT have this in their immigration law (unlike the US). They traveled to the UK and seems they havent acquired residency or citizenship. Note on the former, residency can be revoked in many countries for heinous crimes such as this one.

So from a legal standpoint, the UK government has a very strong case. They even have proof, the mom, so its a simple question of obtaining docs from the Nigerian embassy. His case that he has never been there before holds no water. I know of many US citizens who acquired it based on the fact that their mom/dad is a US citizen. His humanitarian case or well being is the responsibility of his government, in this case Nigeria. Does he not have family or was his mom an orphan, so no case.

Should have thought of that when he was forming Tupac/Thuglife instead of going to school and getting an education. God knows the trouble his mom must have gone thru to survive as an illegal let alone now.

.... First of all there was no place in the post where the criminal's father nor his nationality was mentioned. Secondly, Germany does not grant citizenship by birth. For those people whose parents nationality isn't german when their kids are born they retain the nationality of their parents in their birth registration documents. When they attain the age of 21 those kids can apply for work permit or citizenship, in germany it is indeed a difficult process as they have a conservative citizenship programme for foreigners whether they were born in germany or not. As far as the British authorities are concerned he (the convict) is a Nigerian. And in the whole of this post the convict never contradicted the imigration laws of Great Britain since he did not lay claim to being a British citizen because if he were, the British home office, foreign office, Nigerian high commission and human rights groups would put a stop to it being an all to obvious anomaly.

May God bless you for this observation. The boy was born in Germany and raised in the UK. The immigration policy that allows such treatment is patently racist. When Fidel Castro deported Cuban criminals to the US in the early '70s, he was roundly condemned in the West. That boy, despite his surname, is not a Nigerian. Our Government should reject him otherwise all kinds of hardened criminals will be dumped here.

He was probably relocated to the UK from Germany by his mother using a visit visa and stayed there since. The UK will not stop you attending free schools as every child is entitled to education but by the time he wants to get into university he will face issues.

Please do not mistake this to mean he is legally in the UK. You need to stop looking at this Sentimentally but based on fact and rule of law. He was illegal so staying 20 years means nothing unless he had legally become a resident. On top of that he participated in a group murder which makes him a dangerous and violent criminal in the eyes of the UK government.
