Take Metu's case as a reference point. The EFCC has the right to interrogate or invite him for questioning. But they have no right to detain him for more than 2 days. They are doing that cos they haveno evidence to charge him to court, and cos many gullible Nigerians are supporting this vice. What goes around comes around.

The immediate past Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, may soon be in for trouble should members of the State House of Assembly find him culpable in shoddy contracts allegedly awarded during his tenure.
Speaker of the State’s Assembly, Hon. Edward Ubosi, had Tuesday during the plenary announced that the programme Manager of Arab Contractors, one of the key contract firms that handled housing and road projects, as well as top officials of the State Ministry of Works, have been summoned to appear before the House Committee on Works to explain how some contracts were awarded and executed during the eight year rein of Chime.
According to the Speaker, those summoned are to meet at the Conference Hall of the House on Wednesday November 25, 2015.
Already, the House Committee on Works, led by Hon. SKE Ude-Okoye, representing Awgu North Constituency had recently, undertaken oversight function tour of some projects such as, the New Lion Building government House, New Workers’ Secretariat and the Akwata Road.
The committee had sought to know how the contracts were awarded and their level of execution.
The invitation of the contracting firm and others, is a follow up to the outcome of the oversight function of the House Committee on the spot assessment of government contracts to ensure that revenue is not frittered away on shoddy contracts.
It would be recalled former Governor Chime, fell out with the State’s lawmakers, towards the end of his administration, a development that compelled the legislators to declare war against the ex- Enugu helmsman.
