Please if there is a vet doc in the house...I have about 500 layers I have been keeping them since November 16th. this afternoon around pass 1 my vet doc came to vaccinate them....I and my bro helped him out and after he left I did some chores and took my bath and decided to check on the chicks, I am so shocked now... two are dead and the rest are not looking healthy...I don't know what to do I have called the doc he said he is coming...I also found out that d vaccine he gave them have expired...pics are attached

there is no saw dust in the pen, and there is also no trace of water on the ground.
all the chick are just static...not moving at all

It seems like they now down with the fowl cholera. I suggest you start treatment to salvage the situation. Antibiotics, vitamins. Oral route advised but you can inject...….though the birds are already stressed..........take heart.

Next time pls, vet or not, check and confirm what is to be used on/for your birds.

thanks a lot for ur concern... i will check out the link right away...the vet doc examined the dead ones, he said they have cough that he will come back tomorrow... I have to be up all night...can't even sleep

I assume the vaccine is oil based. The birds are usually still after, 1st FC vaccination. Allow vaccine to reach room temperature, next time.Good luck

The vaccine Is not a live vaccine, so they cant come down with fowl cholera like that, the birds need antistress, But are you really dealing with a vet?

The stress due to the vaccination must have whipped up underlying or latent infection
I wonder the kind of vet that will say chicken has cough.

They are good...I get about 12 creates daily, although some have not started laying.

Anyways, first you have to tell us the physical signs in your pen:

1) Nature of their droppings
2) Productivity and feed intake
3) Do they cold-out with their head dropping to the floor?
4) Your Vaccination procedure
5) Nature of their eggs
6) And drugs you've administered before and after the issue came

Then, I can tell you what to do....but for now, go get a strong anti-viral drug and add vitalyt...that should stem the mortality for now
Do not deworm or vaccinate sick birds

The are fine now....they are laying well...an average of 12 crates pet day...I intend to start brooding another set soon.thanks for asking man.
