At times when I say things like this people get so mad and ask why I say so, but unfortunately that's the bitter truth. Don't trust most Nigerians with money.
This one happened this afternoon. I wanted to recharge my phone and I made a mistake with my phone number grin and I bought N500 airtime for someone else cry

I called the number and here is our conversation:

Me: Hi
Woman: yes, who is this?
Me: My name is Thomas
Woman: from where
Me: from ABC, sorry I mistakenly recharged your phone... (cuts in)
Woman: eh... sooo (sighs)... ends call.

I just shook my head, it's not as if I wanted to get the money back as I had already recharged to call her but I just wanted to say, 'wow... your lucky day' enjoy your self! and to even think that she is a woman and probably a wife as I heard a child crying at the background speaks volumes... She will give testimony in church and other members will clap... grin grin grin grin

I feel like posting her number here... but I will let it slide... cool

But why are most Nigerians dishonest, imagine if I sent money mistakenly to her bank account?

... MODs please let this be on frontpage

I won't be rude! If the person demands a refund I pay back, if he or she says keep it, fine. It's honourable.

I don't like causing pain to others while I smile.

I don't take what is not mine without permission.

OP, I think it is wrong to say "Most Nigerians are not honest", it is better if you say "Many Nigerians are not honest".
Somebody, who is a Nigerian already told us how he handled it when it happened to him. It has never happened to me before but it had happened to my wife before and she immediately called the crediting number (with her money!) and the person thanked her after she returned the credit!
What happened to OP is one in a million and can not be blanketest over many other honest Nigerians.

How do you expect honesty when the party in Power is the most dishonest party in the world?

Here in Nairobi, someone mistakenly sent an equivalent of $100 transfer to my phone alongside with the code with which l could easily withdraw it from money shops around me but had to call the sender to notify him of d mistake & send it back to him.

l believe one's formation influences how we view things. One should derive joy in giving back what does not belong to them.

Now that you have decided to politicize this issue, let's go all the way.

1.) Which Political Party created Boko Haram? Answer: PDP Azazi

2.) Under which party was $49 Billion stolen from our treasury? Answer = PDP - Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

3.) Who supervised & aided the looting aground of our National Treasury? Answer = Ngozi Okonjo Iweala - Premium Times

4.) Which President in the history of Nigeria wakes up in morning with Ogogoro & goes to bed with Ogogoro? Answer = Ebele Jonathan

5.) Who gave Tompolo (A common thief & militant) the authority to acquire Naval ships on behalf of the Navy? Answer = Ebele Jonathan - Premium Times.

6.) Who are the beneficiaries of Sambo Dasuki's stolen booty? Answer = All PDP members

7.) Under which party was our Central Bank turned into a personal ATM? Answer = PDP

Just last week, someone mistakenly sent airtime to my phone. It was in the night and I was already sleepy. It was the next evening that I remembered that someone mistakenly sent me airtime the previous day so I called the person. He admitted that it was an error and I transfered the money back to him. He was very grateful for what I did.
I personally don't feel comfortable using what is not mine unless the owner gives me permission to use it.

do you reason @all? Which Party made Ameachi,Kwankwaso,Atiku etc relevant in politics? Same people that are APC angels.. Dasuki ATM gave PMB 2 cars, Femi Adeshina as editor for the sun got N9M and also N50M for NGE as head from same ATM... Which missing $49 billion? D same one Sanusi later pleaded that it isn't 49 but 20 and then ....if PDP created Boko, I guess they did same for ISIS and Al_shabab, Alqaeda etc..Ngozi supervised looting and yet world institutions rushed after her immediately PDP handed over power....as for ogogoro, maybe you drank it with him daily..Tompolo is a militant but not more of a thieve than Tinubu and Fashola. And he has no apology for been a militant because he owns the oil feeds you yet you want to Lord over his resources. Receive little sense!!!

No brainer indeed.

You were drinking and smoking all night and now woke up sounding off senselessness.
