If u have travelled to Abijan before we would like you to share your experience there. Also let us know the tranportation cost. This is to help those who are planning to go there this year

The first question is.... Do you have a passport?

The second question is.... So you intend going by air or by the road?

and thirdly.... Is it holiday or business purposes you are here for?

Answer those three questions and you would be helped better.

Okay then. As an Abidjan regular (here ATM), I tell you that you don't need a passport to come. But, you'll pay more (like 22k)

young shall grow comes directly to Abidjan and their park is in mass maza Lagos Just hold your voter's card. As I said before 22k

As for ogbona biz, I don't know much about it, but I have an Ivorian friend whose mother does egusi paste i.e. making egusi paste from egusi we use in Nigeria (they don't call it egusi tho)

I met her at toit rouge and she sells ALL the jars of money egusi paste without wasting much time.

But if you want to try it, I wouldn't discourage you, but be prepared for the worst.

Accomodation: Accomodation is paid 5 months in first payment as opposed to two years in Nigeria.
After that, the rent is paid in or before the 6th of the month and failure to do so attracts a fine.

ask me other questions, I don turn omo onile for here

Well as I said before, coming to Abidjan from Lagos is #21000 for a fresher like you grin then subsequent trips is 16500 using Young shall grow in Maza Maza

About the life here.... Hmmm, well the light is constant and there is running water and good hospitals, but you go pay for an I. Ivorian people don't like with their money.

Security, well everywhere is lit up at night, even the ghettos, but just like all cities world-wide, there are criminals, and you have to take precautions.

With your ECOWAS passport, you don't need a permit unless you are working in the public sector to do business here (they are not as hostile as the Ghanaians) but even the permit is easy. You are entitled to it as an ECOWAS citizen.

About the police (gendarme) you should have your passport at home and your National ID or voters card on you in case they stop you. They don't trouble west Africans much.

If you cannot speak French, life here would be rough and many Ivorian are not hospitable like We Nigerians are.

As for Egusi paste, I don't know about it, because is my Ivorian friends mom dat does it so I cannot say.

Bonne Chance.

Change ALL the money you would need to CFA before coming. The ATM cards are blocked o. No try am I. Many Nigerians I know are stranded as we speak because of the new policy.

Your MTN line would work here but be warned

Outgoing calls N60 per minute

Incoming calls N55 a minute or so.

Text message N25

Better but an orange sim or MTN don at the Ghana/Ivory coast border, no na one chance you dey o

And I forgot...... Lagos to Abidjan is about 28-30 hours for everything so be ready.

About partnerships with them, please FORGET IT.

These guys are not people you want to do business with, the best thing is to do your thing on your own.
And they have Egusi here too, but they use it for something else too.

As for accommodation,, last month, a self contain in Youpougon is like20-25k monthly and you pay 5 months at first, then monthly subsequently.

As for the girls, the only advice I'll give you is.... Wear your shield, point, and kill grin

But if you no sabi French.... well.....

Good day

Abidjan is a nice city, though it deteriorated a bit especially during the Civil War and Crisis, but they are coming back up.

About living standards, in many aspects, Abidjan is cheaper than Lagos BUT the pay here is not very good on the average except you are a big time investor or you are loaded, you may not like this city at all.

These people are stingy here too.

@All

Please before relocation plans are made, please consider all factors before moving, as I have seen many stranded both here in Abidjan and other African countries I have been to.

Shine your eyes, and God bless.

I don't really know any "cheap hotel" you can use. The only ones I know are Novotel in Plateau area and Hotel I is along the road to the airport.

To help yourself, check

You'll get help there

Merci beaucoup et gonna chance en votre voyage
