jmaine:yes you have to pick a side. because you're a leader of tomorrow and ppl will look to you for guidance. if you the educated step back from your responsibility what hope is there for the common man. yes both parties are crude nasty brutish but apc is slightly better and when you vote for slightly better it will force the bad party to try to be a bit better and so on and so forth. |

erunz:Come let us reason together. The fault of what is happening to our economy is partly traced to past leaders including Jonathan. I voted for him but he squander our resources big time. During is regime oil boom was at his peak and those money was looted under his watch. PMB inherited a failed economy as a result of Jonathan mismanagement. Oil price is declining which he has no control over. He is working on recovering our money back to diversify the economy and reduce the cancaworm called corruption in the system. What else can a visionary leader do than that.. We reason on sentiment in this country rather than face the fact. Guy if we dont kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria and Nigerians. Wake up. |

Hahahahahaha, only in Nigeria. This is what you get when you vote a man with only 35 years experience in cattle rearing. All he believes is that 'begging' can build a mansion for him, he is simply running nomadic economy in Nigeria where he believes begging will solve every economic problem. |

shawn5ng:People should stop blaming oil price and finding excuse for PMB! Oil price was 12 dollar per barrel during IBB era yet we do not have this economic hardship. The fact is that even if oil price dropped to 10 dollars per barrel and we have a good government things will not be as bad as they are. I lost faith in PMB when I saw draft of the budget for presidency.....Haba over N1billion for feeding in a year! When I see the way people blindly defend our leaders' excesses, I cannot but conclude that Nigerians deserve what they have. |

Joke of the century. Buhari has put all Julius Berger's jobs on hold and still want them to be paying workers that are not working |

This plea should go to states that are already sacking their workers. Osun State being the first in the least. The state has commenced sales of forms for interested medical doctors who want to work in the state. Having told the stricking doctors to considered themselves sacked. Over one hundred of state owned tertiary institutions have been sacked, in the recent weeks. More are still coming. If federal government cannot appeal to this government, why then the private sector? |

This is how far a NEPA bill can take you. When people asked you to prioritize your functions and allocate a larger proportion of your time to the economy, you said you must do what you have been nursing to do for 35 years. When people who know a little more than you advised that you look in the direction of what concerns almost 99.5% of the population [in the present] while you pursue your LIFETIME AMBITION of 'jailing corrupt people', you responded with even more platitudes. Unfortunately, you surrounded yourself with mediocres who are too scared to confront you, people who are too excited to be called 'ministers' than giving you quality advise. And the results are there for everyone to see. Corruption has gone up more than 100,000%, [we now have a FORGED BUDGET] designed to be stolen [THEY HAVE DO IT FROM THE ROOT] even when fundings are going to come from borrowings, UNDER YOUR WATCH. Even achieving your LIFETIME DREAM as a 'jailing president' is not coming off. You can't even pull it off. Suspects are still not taken to court. Those taken to courts are not being diligently prosecuted. The people surrounding you are deceiving you. Nobody runs an economy by BEGGING. Ngige is a medical doctor, he knows more than that, he won't retain his doctors and nurses if there are no patients in his hospitals or if the patients don't pay. Even the doctors won't stay. Have you checked the foreign embassies lately? Nigerians are checking out in droves. We are back to the Andrew is Checking Out days. Do you know what it means? It signifies a COMPLETE LACK OF CONFIDENCE IN YOUR GOVERNMENT. Even people praising you up and down are leaving. And have you checked our embassies abroad for the number of visas they have issued since you came in for comparison with other times? Your government doesn't present any opportunities for any foreign business to explore. The regulatory risk is too high. Policies flip-flops are rife. Uncertainty is the order of the day. They can't easily take their PROFITS back home. And they are not running charities. No one prays to work and not reap the reward of his labour. Nigeria is bigger than what you can handle at this time. And that's the TRUTH. |

mikolo80:When you don't have anything meaningful to contribute towards a thread, you don't spam people mention needlessly. Offcourse, according to you Nigeria is so good that a current serving minister is begging private firms not to sack people meanwhile their policies is at variance to such pleas. . . . . |

DankemzI:You must be a daft for not knowing the reasons for the state of our economy. Do a research on the state of the economy of the oil dependent countries now. Ours is the worst because we stole our future when others were investing and saving for theirs. Note that PMB will not suffer the crises like you. It's you that will bear the brunt. Mugabe is enjoying while tissue paper is of more value than his country's currency. His salaries and allowances will keep coming, no matter what. Therfore, let's pray for our dear country, so that people like you will not die of hunger. |
| Re: Don’t Sack Workers Now, FG Begs Private Investor by Nobody: 9:27am On Jan 17, 2016 |
what does NASS really do? Now we are broke we need to downsize the NASS and their huge salaries. instead of 9 Reps and 3 Senators per state, why not make it 3 Reps and 1 Senator How about restricting salaries inclusive of allowances to $20,000 or N4million per year. Right now NASS are only arm of government spending frivolously. Companies should save money by retaining engineers, by cutting wages if necessary and downsizing numbers of highly paid directors and senior management and reduce salaries of those retained. |

shawn5ng:A bad work man blames his tools but an irresponsible man blames his predecessor!! If he inherited a bad economy from Jonathan; no wahala, I personally don't want the economy to improve again - since the current state of the economy is what APC is calling change. Just let him put the economy in the bad state that it was when he took over power, datz all. At least when he inherited the economy, the Naira was about #190 to the dollar and we had access to the dollar at that rate, fuel was #87 instead of #86.50 and it was sold for #100 and it was available as opposed to now when it sells for #120 and I still can't get it to buy!! If he were not in power, he would accuse Goodluck of Mismanaging the economy, now he has held power for close to 9months and it is till Goodluck he is blaming. That one no be sweargbeh!!?? They insist that Goodluck's administration was stupendously corrupt, and things were still managable then, now they are not corrupt at all but things are far worse; who then is the real thief?? Who then is truly corrupt?? He has gone on an arresting spree from Dasuki to Dokpesi and now it is tompolo he wants!! The leader of one of the most volatile, dangerous and violence prone, Niger-Delta militant groups!! When the amnesty program was announced, because of Tompolo only, it was extended because Tompolo was most especially and viciously sought by the Nigerian military because he single-handedly dealt the Nigerian army the most fatal casualties than any other military group - he was famed for bringing down an army colonel and for him to be encouraged to come out and submit to amnesty program as well as provide complete intel on the exact structure of MEND and how it supplied arms to the other militant groups; in less than 24hrs to the deadline, they extended the amnesty program by 30days - funny enough, this was done by Yar-adua!! That is the one, that Buhari wants to prosecute!! The militant that is especially known for sourcing arms through MEND for other groups; and he expects that the amnesty program/pact won't crumble!! Do you think other former militants will take kindly to that kind of action and sit quietly on the sidelines while Tompolo is being harrased!!?? Now that Bombing of Oil installations don resume, make the President go look for money whey e go take fund 2016 budget now; budget that is already in deficit before it is even implemented, abi he will borrow another #2.1trillion ba?? Then when things get bad, he will point Goodluck! Because Goodluck borrowed #2.1Trillion naira and used #1.8trillion to fund Capital projects ba?? Or he was the one that put the current FOREX policy that we are going through that is causing investors and financial institutions like J.P. Morgan to look elsewhere ba - I guess J.P. Morgan too na PDP too abi?? That confused fellow had better collect Ministry of Finance and head of economic team as well as Petroluem ministry that he is managing and give to someone whose head is actually correct before dollar becomes #1000, Ode!!! ![]() |
