we need to commit both kenya, uganda and ethiopia our air assets together, this war is not of one individual country alone. alshabaab have clear said in their propaganda, their visionary caliphate will reach all our capitals
now that sounds like a plan, if we combine ,integrate and cordinate our air assets, then give ourselves a clear plan with a deadline . A plan that will involve winning would be alshabaab recruits in Somalia, a media campaign and a counter propaganda machine, creation of a network of informants and a bold military campaign. And also the training of a large Somalia force to take over - we also leave them our ground assets at the end of the timeline... The unity of the 3 core contributors will be enough to cause the enemy to panic, it will also be inspirational to the troops, right now morale must be low,

The reson why they are not releasing the numbers is cause some are still missing and about 7 (according to news source from Mogadishu) are believed to still be alive as PoW in the hands of alshabaab, I pray 4 them to get miracle.

The pic has been on social media platforms for a few weeks now, also if they were supposed to stay unknown/Classified they wouldn't have taken the photo with their name and rank clearly visible in the first place.

Four soldiers injured in Shabaab attack on Amisom base arrive in Nairobi

Four Kenyan soldiers who were injured when Al-Shabaab militants attacked an African Union Mission in Somalia (Amisom) base in Somalia arrived at the Wilson Airport, Nairobi Sunday morning aboard two civilian planes.

Present to receive them were the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Samson Mwathethe and the Cabinet Secretary for Defence Rachel Omamo.

Three of the soldiers could walk unassisted while the fourth one had to be carried on a wheel chair to a waiting ambulance as he had severe injuries from the waist downwards.

Gen Mwathethe revealed that during the Friday attack, three vehicles loaded with explosives and several suicide bombers attacked the Amisom base at El-Adde in Gedo region of Jubaland in Somalia.

The military boss said the search, rescue and recovery operation was ongoing for soldiers who escaped the attack.

“As we speak, the search, rescue and recovery operation is ongoing as a matter of priority. We have also pursued the enemies and have so effectively and severely degraded them,” he said.

He said both the KDF and Somali National Army (NSA) camps were hit during the attack which led to the death of several soldiers.

I understand, but if they were not allowed to have their photos taken, why would they pose for a photo in the first place?? Hell one of the guys on the photo even got is instagram account mentioned!!

As i said, if they were classified, they wouldn't be made available to the public.

I highly recommend you guys see "Beasts of no Nation" either at the cinemas,Netflix or Putlocker...It's epic*Praise emoji*
Featuring a rebel group(Led by Idris Elba)
Government forces
And Nigerian/Ghanian ECOMOG forces
This is without a doubt one of the best movies of 2015, certainly the best movie i've seen this 2016. Pity it was snubbed at the oscars and box office. Seeing it's an African film, I'm not so surprised.

Very beautiful movie, intense, well written, Agu and Idris Elba were fantastic.

Think one of the reasons it was snubbed(or so i read), was due to the fact that the film was released online on the same date as the theatrical in release instead of the 90-day release window of exclusivity to theatres, this led to numerous cinemas boycotting the film.

Anyway the film reminded me a lot of Blood Diamond.

Reutech has a similar man portable one the RSR 950 Ngada.

The defence force needs to expand this capability. With other electronic warfare sensors, smaller UAV etc

Went on Reutechs site to check it out!!....It it pretty impressive, wonder why we went for the Thales option?....Guess it doesn't really matter since the Thales squire radar was also locally produced!!

I used to think they were some sort of enlarged variants of Proforce MkII's. However, i'm no longer so sure, seeing that Proforce exported their vehicles to an entirely different country.

You would think a country that's part of the European union can do better than that....Guess that's why they are still importing mraps from us.
