Booyakasha:Facebook like most Scale companies, use a number of tools. From what i consider accurate information, Facebook has been using mysql for long. Although they use several different languages and database for different parts of the application. Timeline uses a nosql database(in house developed tool) which they opensourced sometime back. In large companies, expect to see many different databases and programming languages. I also think most modern database can do 100 million easy(open source and propietary), you would need to set up a cluster of database servers to handle that workload though. |
