Dear Jane,

My name is Mimi, and am a regular reader of your blog. I have a pressing issue and I hope you can help me pass it across to the world. I have a boyfriend i have been dating for close to 4 years now. And I must say our relationship has been near perfect. We don't have much arguments and if there is any, it is quickly resolved.

I trust him so much, I had never touched his phone all these years simply because he had given me no reason to doubt his sincerity towards me.

He recently bought a Blackberry Passport from a close friend of his and I must say the phone has been like a crazy hole in his pocket. The phone wasn't in a good condition at all.

He recently asked me to help find a repairer, of which my younger brother is so skilled in the art of fixing phones. I took the phone to my brother just yesterday. It was when he wanted to start work on it that he realised the phone was pass-worded.

I had to call my boyfriend for the password, which he gave. My brother was able to fix the phone and handed it to me. I decided to check through his Media if there was anything I could transfer to my phone. What I saw really got me scared and as I write, am in deep shock.

My boyfriend only has PORNOGRAPHIC VIDEOS of gay men on his phone. He has close to 30 of the videos and about 100 photos of men doing each other.

I didn't want him to suspect anything, so I called him to inform him that I had collected the phone from my brother, but it has locked itself. He thanked me and asked me to meet him at his place.


Now am so confused about him. Could he be a homo-sexual? or he just seeks pleasure watching those kind of fetish movies.

Only he knows and only he can say. If you handle this gently and with the right level of compassion, maybe you can draw out of him what's holding him back. And just one last thought. Have you tried making the first move, like handling/stroking parts of his body that would turn most men on? If you tell him you want to do that, his response might be a clue as to how you follow through with knowing exactly what he's thinking. You'll likely never know unless you ask!

you made mention of the fact that he bought it from a friend- it could be some of the hidden files on the phone. I dont think he would be so careless to toy with such obscene files. Some dudes can be very lazy atimes, thereby procrastinating tasks that should be handled early at the eleventh hour. Anyway, it's not unusual that gay men have girlfriends by the side. Infact it's VERY common, especially once they get to a certain age, say 25 and above. Cos at the point society and family would have started raising eyebrows if they don't see him with a lady.
