Hello Lailans,
This young man pictured above was a third cousin of mine.
His name, Uchenna Agbo.
His friends called him EPELINGO.
After secondary school, he elected to serve in the army.
He was posted to fight Boko Haram in Borno State.
Epelingo had no access to sophisticated weapons.
But he kept telling our people he was committed to fighting the war till it ends.
At the time, Olisa Metuh and Dasuki plus Anenih and Jim Nwobodo et al, were sharing the money voted to equip him so he can succeed in liberating that beleaguered corner of his fatherland.
One day, his troop was overwhelmed by the superior firepower of Boko Haram.
Uchenna died.
His ageing mother is still mourning.
So is his only brother, Nnaemeka and a host of us who are his relations.
But Olisa Metuh is alive and well
Fighting for how he is going to NOT pay his share of the blood money.
And fellows are here screaming human rights and protesting that Metuh was placed on handcuffs.
I used to chat with Uchenna at least once a week on Facebook.
I will never get to do that.
You see why I am angry?
I will give 5000 handcuffs to have this my brother back!!!!!

Sentiments aside,
Those men have to pay for the crimes they committed against humanity. These soldiers are the reason why we walk the streets freely today. They are peoples fathers, husbands, sons, brothers and caregivers. They were armed with shotguns and rusty AK47's and were sent in to fight men armed with machine guns, grenade launchers, IED's and heavy artillery. Some regiments could not afford bullet proof vests for their men because of funds and they died in their numbers while the men they fought to protect were busy sharing the monies meant for their weapons and protective gears. Some of the soldiers refused to fight while some revolted and the same government dismissed them from the army and sentenced them to death.

This is not just greed, This is sickness. -

RIP brother. Why do the good perish and the evil one flourish? The world is an evil place.

You are a bloody hypocrite!! For one we are been fed all manner of confessionary tales yet Dasuki is pleading not guilty in court!! What is making the Fed Govt from producing Dasuki in court to quickly commence the trial!! Enough of all this media blackmail.Obasanjo was also indicted for $16billion fraud,8 times the amount of money alegedly looted by Dasuki yet you yorubas would not see that one.

Nigerians must learn the attitude of "presumed innocent until proven guilty". We cannot take allegations as gospel truth. I don't know if any body shared money meant to equip soldiers but I'm not about to pass judgment until that person has had their day in court. People must allegation is not the same as guilt, be open minded.

Accept my sympathy. Sadly, the reality of war is that there will always be casualties, you can ask the Americans how many soldiers they lost in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria even with the numerous sophisticated weapons they have.
