Last week, one of Nigeria's biggest fast food joints tweeted an ad on their official twitter page; "Why eat your words when you can eat our meals" and "Special delivery for Olisa" with an EFCC logo on the ad, which is in reference to reports that PDP Spokesman Olisa Metuh allegedly ate or tried to eat a document containing statements he made to the EFCC.This was allegedly done by Olisa Metuh so that the document  won't be used as evidence against him in court.However,Olisa Metuh denied he did anything like that.Despite this, Chicken Republic continued to use the controversy as a publicity stunt for their brand.

Chicken Republic I never knew you still existed. The last time I visted that trash hole, I met a sad looking security guy at the door, very scanty Republic and I advised myself that I could be buying stale food because it looked like they haven't had customers around that particular trash hole for months.
Chicken republic if you can vouch that you dont inflate prices of stale foods you serve to government agencies at functions then let's see that.you threw caution to the wind to dabble into politics and this shows how you desperately need customers because you are fast losing them.

By the way, what some of us are against is the violation of rights and deliberate attempts to humiliate an accused because of their political views. You should be ashamed of yourself for supporting such practice.
The government should follow due process. We should not allow the country to be dragged back into a dictatorship.

It is saddening that some of us who are educated sees nothing wrong in this. I guess some of us know what defamation of character is and what it's consequence on a struggling brand like chicken republic. Even Dangote as big as it is can never play partisan politics.
