People living around the Kaduna Airport have been
alerted on the movement of troops and blockage of
roads in the area as the British Military Advisory
Capacity Building training of personnel of the Nigerian
Air Force (NAF) enters the final phase next weekend.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of
the NAF Training Command, Squadron Leader Chris
Erondu on behalf of the Air Officer Commanding (AOC)
said yesterday that the training was to ensure effective
defence of Nigeria’s airspace and protection of its
critical assets. “The British Military Advisory Training
Team will be rounding off a three-week long capacity
building training exercise for NAF Regiment Personnel
at the Kaduna International Airport from 25 to 28
January, 2016. The exercise will feature, among others,
the movement of armed troops and the use of the local
roads within and around the airport,” the statement
said. “The general public is advised to go about their normal
business and not panic at sighting the movement of
armed troops within the airport during the exercise,” it
added.
