But i never stopped taking my medications, i drink a glass of milk before every meal, dis helps a long way in healing, nd make sure u start with lighter meals in d morning, nd i always eat on time, d doctor said i should not wait before i am feeling hungry to take a meal, i turned to a glutton

I eat 5 to 6 times a day,I think it's d reason y i love food

Nd i take a lot of fruits too, so make sure you have little snacks at home just in case food is not ready

I wish nairaland doctors can comment on this issue, it is a very painful experience.

Go to pharmacy buy avrocid take ten mls three times daily together with omeprazole, two tabs three times daily, you won't remember ulcer, above all eat well before you're hungry avoid ground nut and peppers, if you take them make to take the above medication

I am also an ulcer patient. Got mine from my abuse of NSAIDS(Ibuprofen). Took a triple action ulcer drug, followed it up with Lansoprazole. It was making sense till I took a dose of Ibuprofen again for a slight headache, after then it got worse and disturbed me. Currently on a triple action drug (feeling much better).

What's my epistle all about?

Herbs will not work(tried it and first time in my life I vomited).

Don't drink alcohol aka beer. (this is my strength, I don't drink and result? It doesn't worsen my condition)

Don't go for a miracle session. (it will not work).

Try and eat fruits and vegetables. Banana, Apple, carrots, veggies, cabbage.

Limit your fry fry, I fry a lot also but I have done my best to limit it. Truth is that, Nigerian meals encourage frying, oil, saturated fats, sugars, excess calories.

Take garlic and ginger once in a while. I'm a garlic aficionado. Take it for a living . Helps in detoxification. Note: don't take it with your drugs

Drink water.

In conclusion, I recommend you undergo tests like:

Fecal Occult Blood test.
Urea breath test

And the boss itself Endoscopy. The first checks for blood in your stool; positive indicates bleeding in the stomach and vice versa.

Urea breath test checks for the bacterium Helio bacter pylori. This bacterium causes the stomach linings to be eroded thereby allowing acid to corrode the stomach. Which shouldn't be so.

Endoscopy is the best. Allows the gastrointestinal specialist to view inside your stomach and see what exactly is the problem. Whether wound, tumor, hole it will see. I recommend it over CT scan or MRI-scan because of no radiation therapy although mri doesn't emit radiation an endoscopy is far better for a gastrointestinal problem like ulcer. It's painless also.

Be fastidious with drug taking. Always eat something all times, fruit at least. Be ready to spend money, ulcer drugs aren't two naira. Bought my triple action drug #3,500

OP, You can get this bells product for acidic stomach or go the natural way by trying the fermented plaintain water drink. Those two helped me alot. take lots of water melon or fruits that not acidic in nature.

These ulcer is killing me because there are some certain foods I cannot eat and drink like minerals,fried foods and anything that have a oil especially groundnut oil and the problem is I am use to cooking with a groundnut oil.
