The last time I checked such a report of nine pilots was made in 2010 hardly a year after SA received its first batch of Gripens. So since then SAAF has been standing idle doing nothing to increase its number of pilots. Recruitments were made and some pilots were sent to Cuba and Russia. That is what I call progress.
My friend shut up or provide evidence.

It's a well know fact that South-Africans are very dull. You do not have the brain capacity to fly 4th GEN jets, that's also why you struggle to fly any of your equipment.

For example your 22 squadroun has only one pilot who can land at sea, hence the SAN had to go beg a civilian pilot to fly your Lynx which is currently on it's way to India.

South-Africans = No brains.

I mean take a look at you and fighterpilot........ Two SANDF personnel with no brains.

-You're the best with your 9 Gripen Pilots

$40 million Search and Rescue Helicopter

-And “According to the Review the SANDF is in a
critical state of decline, is unsustainable and prime mission
equipment, especially in the landward force, faces block
obsolescence. “Ammunition stocks are depleted,
infrastructure is falling apart, skilled staff is leaving and the
arms of the various services operate in silos and are unable
to manage basic procurement, which is centralised and run
by the deputy director-general in the Defence Secretariat.”

South-African Stup1dity at it's finest
Let's not even talk about the predicament the Nigerian armed forces find themselves in, hell you guys can't even stop a rebel group from holding territory in your own country.

Also our Defence Force is being compared to Western militaries in the Defence review, Also the Defence review has been approved if you did not notice which means the decline is being rectified.

the funny thing is that all this war photos of SANDF that you uploaded... i cant remember SANDF going to any major war operations.... the little one you people went for you failed WOEFULLY.... smh
So you conveniently forgot the fact, that we destroyed the most powerful rebel group in Africa in a matter if months.

Also which ones did we fail?

Stop talking rubbish like a fool!

Well, in South-Africa's case, your government relinquished power/ Land to the terrorists. Hopelessness of a HIV ridden defence force

-An Air Force that cannot raise 2 pilots for it's seaborne unit cannot be compared European militaries.

- An Air Force which cannot boast of 1 combat qualified pilot for it's 26 Gripens cannot even be compared to the Air Force of Madagascar

-

- A military that is short on skill and has to beg civies to fly their aircrafts can't be compared to a European military

- A military filled with the world's oldest Infantry men, with the highest rate of HIV prevalence cannot be compared to a European military

- A military that imports Cubans to fix vehicles they allegedly built themselves cannot be compared to the Europeans

- A military that cannot afford to keep it's A109s in the Air cannot be compared to the Europeans

The SANDF is no better than the Army of Malawi.

Your Defence review has been approved, but there is no money to fund it, same predicament that left your project biro for 23years.

Buying shiny toys but not having the maintenance, training,

Gross foolishness is when a South-African whose Air Force cannot raise 2 proper pilots for it's Sea Borne unit believes his obsolete military lacking in critical skill can be compared to a European military.
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Thiza: 10:49am On Jan 25, 2016
SANDF you have been trumpeting the same story for the last ten years of 9 pilots. SANDF has trained a substantial number since then....here are some fotos

SANDF....YOU CANT RUBBISH OUR CAPACITY UNLESS RECYCLE YOUR RUBBISH CLAIM OF BANGUI AND 9 PILOTS....BESIDES YOU HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER,,,,USELESS MILITARY THAT CANNOT EVEN DEFEND TOUR TERRITORY....NIGERIA MUST THANK CAMEROON, NIGER AND CHAD FOR YOUR SURVIVAL.

- Haha OK

- Refer to pic 1 and 2.

-Western airforces do the same

-Doesn't matter, if you're fit enough then you're young enough, also the SANDF only has a 8% hiv prevalence rate. Thus less than 7000 soldiers HIV, also they receive FREE anti viral drugs, which means they are healthy.

- Building capability is nothing to be ashamed of, Cuba are notorious for having great mechanics P.S ever wondered why Nigeria buys equipment in small batches and from many different countries? Let me tell you, its because you can't maintain your equipment and thus its easier to just buy new ones.

- They were temporal grounded, they are back in regular service.

- citation that project biro is 23 years old.

Award for Enterprise, an award that provided $75,000 which
Mohammed used to produce and distribute his invention in 11
northern states in Nigeria.
Bio: Mohammed developed his pot-in-pot
refrigerator by combining the knowledge
he had gained from his grandmother’s
craft of traditional pottery with simple
laws of physics. He followed up on the
idea by placing food in a small pot, which
is then placed in a larger pot. The space
between the two is filled with moist sand
and a wet cloth cover is used to cover the
whole set up. As the water in the moist sand evaporates through the
larger pot, it carries heat away from the inner core of the whole set up.
Mohammed holds no patent on this invention because the pot making
business is not new. What is novel is the fact that he set up a local
production facilities to provide the pot-in-pot for the cost of $2
(N320) for the smaller pot-in-pot refrigerator and $4 (N640) for the
bigger versions. The invention allows perishable food to extend their
spoilage rate. For example, meat can be stored in it for up to two
weeks instead of a few hours.
