All you need bro is think outside the box.You already have what it takes to be a BOSS.Ask yourself must you work under someone?

Think outside the box and follow difficult but simple RULES:

You have the skill
Look out for the market
Borrow some cash from your family and friends(if don't have any at all)
Position yourself
Package and brand(thank God you have international taste)
Sell your skill

And lastly, watch and pray as you climb the ladder.

#Opinion#

You all shouting economy these economy that....YOU!! What do you offer?
think outside the box you said, please show him the box.

Go to Bain and Company Nigeria web site and contact the recruiting officer for Africa or the Managing partner for Nigeria.

Send him a mail and he will respond Asap and take it up from there.

That is if you're interested in a career in Management or Strategy Consulting.

Top Secret: Do a research on the major firms in Lagos that you know won't overlook your qualifications. Find out about their CEOs online and you will surely get in contact with their direct emails.

Compose a well structure cover letter outlining your skills and most importantly what value you can add to their organisation.

Believe me! Even if you're not invited for interview immediately, they will surely respond to you. And the advantage here is that you won't face many competition when you're called for interview. Continue that way till you get what you want.

I am where today because of this uncommon common strategy.

NB: It won't come easy but it will be worth it.

Wish you the best!
Wow! Thank you very much sir.

You can as well state the name of your institution/country.
I hope your institution is recognized by NUC/NYSC?

You better go back to where you came from, if you really want a job but remain here if you want to establish yourself. #fact

Mekyno brought me here and I must say you seem to have a really good profile. Touched by this. At the same time however, it's important to know which foreign college you finished from. What did you specialize in under Financial Mathematics? What was your thesis on?

Then again, don't be so scared someone will identify you on this forum. There are more than a million people here and you can be sure more "employers" will spot you than would acquaintances.

I would advise you don't settle for less. If you don't like to teach in a school or a university, don't do it. If you don't wanna work in some off-field discipline, don't do it. Target the financial institutions in the country; make a list and submit your CV+cover letter to ALL of them. There's only so much anyone can do to "help" you into a multinational. Most employ on merit.

Anyways, I'll see what's possible. Let me ask around first before getting involved.

Even as an undergraduate, I'm impressed. If I had a job the OP has clearly made the first list upon application.

But why were you withholding all these information earlier on? undecided I guess your village people almost followed here.

Dear Nairalanders,

I bring my humble self to thee like a child in need would.

After few years of working and studying abroad, I'm finally home. And indeed there is no place like home!

Yes! home is sweet and I am very happy to be back to my love ones, friends, and even foes that I cherish nonetheless.

However, I am writing this in a perturbed state of mind. The reality of unemployment is making me increasingly apprehensive.

I've got skills, experience, and qualifications to magnetize that dream job, but it seems like there is none in the haystack.

This write-up is intent on getting a job through Nairalanders be it directly or indirectly.

I am aware that some Nairalanders are in a position to recruit in their individual organisations. Some are also highly placed in the corporate world and as such have access to privy information that could open employment doors and annihilate the shackles of unemployment in one's life.

So, once again, I bring my humble self to thee as I am in need of a job.

Without spilling much information, I present to us a little about me:

Age: Mid Twenties.

Qualifications:

MSc.Financial Mathematics(Abroad),

BSc. Mathematics(Nigeria) First Class

Work Experience: Financial Analyst (Abroad), and Assistant Accountant (Abroad).

Technical Skills: Excel, VBA, SQL, R, MatLab, Python, Oracle, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.

Other Skills: Numeracy, Analytical, Interpersonal, and Good Communication skills both verbal and oral.

Other information is available upon request including details of my job experience and specific competencies.

All I need is an interview to prove my mettle and I won't disappoint you. Thanks you all.

By the way, please do not bet your hands cuz you will lose it, sir.

Don't you worry about it, dispatch your CV to so many companies, but hardcopy and softcopy and meanwhile, whatever job you get please Dont look at it as something not worth your qualification rather look at it as a stepping stone and your starting point .finally commit it to the hands of God. All the best!

You returned few months ago. This is the first month of a new year. Most organizations are still warming up. A little bit of patience. Trust me, very soon, you would have difficulty in selecting the organization you want to work with. It's going to come like a flood.

I didn't get employed at my present place of work until more than a year after I had written the aptitude test. I had completely zero-ed it off my list and had to settle for lesser jobs in-between.

Don't despise any job lesser than your dream job. A step at a time. Little drops make an ocean. Get busy. Volunteer. Etc.

I'll tag Jarus. I think he can help too.
